I have type 2 Diabetes but I have managed to get my blood sugar level down to a normal level by doing some research and changing my diet. My problem is that I have a manual job, getting up at 4am, on my feet all day. By the time I get to the weekend, I'm totally spent and have to spend the weekend recovering

The right diet for T2 Diabetes with elevated blood cholesterol
I have lived with T2 for five years (genetic caused) which I usually control the conditions with low carb diet with good fat ( extra virgin olive oil, a bit of coconut oil) and full cream diary products. I also eat proteins from both animals and plants especially my favorite dhal. I excercise most days

Do I need to watch intake of daily Calories?.
I am 67 yrs. old male and was diagnosed with diabetes in 1999. 3 months ago I stopped taking Janumet 1000/50 and GlipZIDE 2.5mg but again take it once a while when I cheat in eating Indian/Chinese buffets and sweets. My A1C is 5.6 and weight fluctuates between 137 lbs and lbs.143 for the last 2 months

Hello there!
I've been in this group for two weeks and have learned many different things from each posts. Myself, has been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes since 2011. I control my BGL through a low carb diet and exercises whenever I have time. So far so good except if I eat too much. I am glad to join this group

Back again...
Got to week 6 run 3 then stopped. Just couldn't face it. Been trying to control type 2 diabetes diagnosis with diet alone but 3 month check has shown it's time for medication. I've promised to try harder as I don't want to take meds so broke up from school yesterday and got on the running machine

LDL / HDL Ratio, Is it a big deal
Good Day to every one: My blood work report (as of 12th Dec) revealed as Total Cholesterol 121 (normal) HDL was 48 (OK) LDL was 63 (OK) Triglycerides 78 (good) - due to the reason that this # was way above 200 six months ago. Cholesterol / HDL ratio was 2.5 (seems to be within range).
