The cholesterol,a brief summary of its function and synthesis and how statins works to lower it.
There is a lot of controversy going on role of cholesterol as well as on a group of drugs known as STATINS.Many have dubbed this drug as useless while others have branded it potentially harmful. So, there is a lot of confusion as many research papers which support the use of statins are said to be sponsored

Siberian Ginseng - AF contraindication?
Had blood tests recently and have been looking through them with a magnifying glass. My urea and Creatinine levels are on the high side and a few other things as well lead me to think my kidneys are not operating optimally. No alarm bells but I am now trying to sort things out BEFORE the alarm bells

Brand Vs Generic
Hi all, I just want to know if anyone has tried generic instead of brand medication and any difference noted in blood sugar levels. Of course, generic are cost effective but do they have same efficacy as brand ? I am taking Amaryl M1 (brand) and the generic for the same is GM-SR1 by Psychotropics

Many, many health professionals have relationships with Pharma Industry -- Conflict Of Interest?
I have seen few out here swear by the so called "experts" -- a term used to cloak the realities. However, internet is such a great medium that it's exposing the "experts" far and wide. Take a look at following article: http://www.propublica.org/article/leaders-of-teaching-hospitals-have-close-ties-to-drug-companies-study-shows

Dear all, after 6 months of Lahr my a1c improved from 11.2 to now 6.6 . HDL from 39 to 45 , but ldl from 132 to 153. What is the reason for Ldl going bad? Total cholesterol is 213. I don't take any statin.

Low Carb Gluten Challenge
Hi all Having tested negative on the bloods for coeliac my GP recommended that I trial a gluten-free diet to see if things improved. They have: my chronic (20+ years) whole body itching has all but disappeared and my intestines seem a lot happier. Around the same time as going gluten free I also went
