Hi everyone .. I'm new here and looking for some ways to lower my cholesterol. I also have Diabetes Type 2 but not on medication - been managing to keep my sugars below the threshold at the moment. However my cholesterol is high and my diabetic nurse wants to put me on statins and I'm not too keen

Hi. So I know that symptoms of diabetes is exsessive thirst and urination, but I’m not sure if mine is excessive. I’ve been awake for about 7 hours and I’ve had 3 litres of water and still feel thirsty, I’ve been to the toilet 7 times today and I’ve had headaches. This has been happening for a few days

Evening all, I have quite a few symptoms all ticked accordingly from the Thyroid UK website. I've asked the Dr for a Thyroid Function test and she's agreed to do one for me but she said it would be a non fasting one. Is that correct? I thought i'd have to do a fasting blood test early morning or is that

Are these readings normal?
Hi All, Hope you are doing good. Below are my readings for the last 2 days. Yesterday, when I took my fasting blood sugar reading on the glucometer, it was 101. I took another reading in the next 1 minute by using the same blood. It took me one minute to change the strip and this time it was 70.

Lupus & new diagnosis of Diabetes: uncontrolled blood glucose came on suddenly. Anyone else diabetic?
Hi folks, after years of blood tests where my blood glucose level was in the low 5s, I seem to have suddenly (over a few weeks) started with full blown diabetes. My blood glucose was in the mid 20s & I was drinking litres of water as well as dashing to the loo several times a night etc. before it occurred

VOGLIBOSE
I want to know how far Voglibose is effective in tackling type-2 diabetes, whether is it one answer to all Galvus, metformin, glimepiride and insulin, as it blocks entry of glucose into the cell?

How Much Is The Shoulder Stiffness Due to Pred. Fat Redistribution?
I feel I have a yoke across my shoulder blades & grinding & crunching sensations at the back of my neck. Burning sometimes too. Minimal stuff compared to real pain but it does affect my judgement on how the tapering is going. Have I hit the buffers again at 15mg? Is this PMR on the way or just typical

Does Fenugreek seeds lessen the HbA1c also in Pre-diabetes?
Hello, I have been taking Fenugreek(Methi) seeds from last 7 days as I am a pre-diabetic, and I read several reports that Fenugreek seeds are very good for lessening FBS, PPBS and also Lipids, especially in Pre-diabetics. My doubt is that does it not lessen the HBA1c also in Pre-diabetics, as that will

Medication side effects on blood sugar levels
Hello, took a blood sugar reading using husband's kit,he suggested it as I had some blurry vision. It was 8.3 higher than it should be on fasting.I checked out possible causes, and guess what? Bisoprolol and Atorvastatin can raise blood sugar, especially at high dosage. I'm not rushing off to the doctors

Sugar and insulin resistance
Hi - have been reading with interest the latest theories and research on the effect of sugar and insulin resistance. I'm overweight and eat far, far too much sugar. I'm wondering if anyone here has come across any guidelines as to how much sugar would be acceptable in a diet seeking to improve insulin
