Getting the ball rolling
Hi, I've been struggling with my weight for a while. I have either IBS or bile acid malabsorption which makes dieting a lot harder as I have to be careful what I eat. Here's to getting the ball rolling and feeling like me again.....it's been a while.

Not good
I went for a check up with my doctor and I had a blood test done. When the result had come back, it was not good. They found out my sugar level was to high and that I had to change my diet. I was asked to exercise to avoid being diabetic. So, I have started on a 5k run which I’m enjoying.

Pred: Hunger/appetite change. Early days, do things get better
Pre PMR diagnosis in early July 2018, I was overweight. First time in my life; I've gained just under 28lbs in past two years. Same diet, hugely reduced activity because of pain and mobility restriction. I've never struggled with weight. Used to be fit, happy and active but now having to review wardrobe

Battling with type 2 diabetes
Hi Just joined you guys. In my early 60s and type 2 diabetes for a few years. Needed to start insulin recently and piled on the weight with it even though being really good with my diet. Never tried running before but seems to be helping even at start of week 3.

Hi all - I'm more of a lurker so this is my first post, but I couldn't resist letting you know that I completed the programme this morning - at 5.30 to avoid the heat and achieving 4.5km in the 30 mins. As a 63 year old with (controlled) high blood pressure & cholesterol and recently-diagnosed type 2

New to diabetes type 2
I am 76 yrs old and was a research scientist. I was non-diabetic till a year back with normal fbs and ppbs and HbA1C of 5.9 to 6.1 till then. But then this year, in the month of February, I was shocked to find that my fbs became 430 and ppbs 750 and HbA1C of 17.3. I was on insulin for about three weeks

New targets for HbA1C in type 2 diabetes
Recently, there is a report in Times of India, which said that the American College of Physicians has revised the target levels for good control of diabetes to HbA1C of 7.0 to. 8.0% instead of keeping it under 7.0. The Indian medical fraternity is not in favour of this. My question is did the ACP also

Simple Trick Can Minimize Damage From Unhealthy Carbs
Digestive-resistant starches are indigestible low-viscous fibers that act as prebiotics. They slowly ferment in your large intestine, where they nourish healthy bacteria Resistant starches also bulk up your bowel movements without making you feel bloated or gassy, and do not cause blood sugar spikes
