Hi lovely people! Please could you kindly advice on the attached and below. This was after 7 weeks on 60mg Metavive daily alone (2x 30mg grains.) I was feeling ok but felt slightly undermedicated so I’ve now added 25mg thyroxine to see if that helps. Almost one week in now and feel better so I will retest in 8 weeks
Vitamins were:
Vit D 84nmol ( 50-200) I’m taking a daily supplement and have done for over a year but clearly not working
Serum ferritin 71ug/L ( 12-300)
Serum folate 9.8ug/L (3.0- 17.0)
B12 “this service not currently available due to reagent shortage” ( ie costs! Ha)
Thank you all so much as ever for any advice you can give me. 🙏🏾💜🥰

Your TSH and FT4 are where one might expect to see them when taking any form of NDT. Although Metavive is classed as a glandular, it is thought to be a form of NDT.
FT3 is still very low which suggests you're not taking enough Metavive.
Adding 25mcg Levo will improve your FT4 and may improve your FT3, depending on how much natural conversion you have. It will be interesting to see your results when you retest.
Vit D is recommended to be 100-125nmol/L. Are you also taking magnesium? Magnesium helps D3 to work. We need Magnesium so that the body utilises D3, it's required to convert Vit D into it's active form. So it's important we ensure we take magnesium when supplementing with D3.
Also needed is Vit K2-MK7 as D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems such as hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, etc.
Ferritin has reached the level required for thyroid hormone to work (70) but it is recommended that it's half way through range, I've also seen that for females 100-130 is best.
Eating liver every couple of weeks should help raise it, or black pudding, liver pate and other iron rich foods apjcn.nhri.org.tw/server/in...
Thanks so much lovely SeasideSusie amazing and thorough advice as always Yes i take magnesium every day and I’ve been massively craving black pudding but I haven’t found any gluten free ones yet! Ha. I also drink home made bone broth pretty much every day and eat red meat at least every week and lots of green leafy veg but somehow my ferritin is always on the low side... will keep plugging away! Will also look at Vit K2 thanks for the heads up. I’ll post my next results and if they are not much better I’ll add an extra half grain to see if that helps massive love and gratefulness for your advice 🤗🤗
B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast
Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two). Or Jarrow B-right
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
