Where to get an iron infusion?
Some people are having trouble finding where to go for an iron infusion at a reasonable price. If your anemic its no problem and your GP should arrange it for you with no questions. If your not anemic it seems you have to go to a private clinic or hospital and pay for it. If your not anemic and you have

Injection frequency for Vitamin B12
I have been diagnosed with severe deficiency of B12 a month ago. My B12 level was 95 pmol/l (which is 42.27 ng/ml) and Active B12 level was 18 pmol/l (8.01 ng/ml) . I presented my GP and Neurologist with slow movements of right arm, right hand fingers and leg. I have sort of little burning sensation

Ferritin vs HB as proxy for iron deficiency / iron anaemia
Hi, My first time commenting here! When assessing a child for their likelihood of having a coeliac condition - a child with an IG(A) deficiency, what vitamin insufficiencies do you look at to support or rule out a potential case. My son’s doctor has said that the only important thing to look at, when

So cold!
Hi, have Sys. Sclerosis ...I am not having a good time just now....or for quite a while.... I am feeling cold all the time. It is strange because it seems to be from my 'core' like I am not generating heat to warm my body, if that makes any sense! I have had a quilt around me on the livingroom couch

Do I have iron deficiency?
Hi all. Can anyone please have a look and see what they think of my results, if I am possibly deficient in iron? To me it looks like my iron serum & transferrin saturation are on the low side. However my ferritin is in the normal range, so my doctor has said I'm fine. BUT I don't feel fine. I have

Iron Tablets vs Liquid
Last ten months, I’ve been taking 2 x 65mg Ferrous Fumarate tablets daily for iron deficiency. There is improvement in results albeit it’s been gradual. Currently travelling and come across a liquid preparation, called FPur by Althea, elementary iron, 0.1ml = 2mg. Can anybody advise whether then,

Iron supplementation and TSH levels
I don't know how it is in the UK, but dealing with drs and lab tests here in the US can be highly frustrating. My Endo doesn't check for Ferritin, Iron, etc with my TSH tests. So I did them myself. I also have an acupuncturist who has been helping me as a functional dr since most Western Drs here

GP wants to reduce my dose
Hi all I'm taking 125 mcg of levothyroxine and 20mcg of liothyronine. My levothyroxine had been increased by 25 mcg approx January this year as I had ongoing fatigue symptoms. GP had suggested levo increase. At the same time, he tested iron and that was found to be a little low. He prescribed me Syrton

Low ferritin, normal hb , has anyone had infusions
Hi I currently have a ferritin level of 8 and feel terrible. I have a history of low ferritin and it hasn’t been higher than 25 for 4 years. I’m no longer able to take iron tablets because of side effects. My gp Has recommended iron infusions and from the research I’ve done could greatly improve my quality

B12 and iron deficiency link?
Just found this article. It suggests a link between B12 and iron deficiency. I thought it may be interesting. (I had B12 deficiency and iron deficiency at the same time, the iron deficiency corrected itself mysteriously after 2 weeks of B12 loading doses) Extracted quote to save you reading the whole
