Relationship between serum cholesterol and Graves' orbitopathy (GO): a confirmatory study
The abstract of this paper is like many others in that it switches between "high cholesterol" and "low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol". Well, perhaps it all makes more sense in the full paper? (Though that is behind a paywall.) Still, the simple observation of an association is interesting and

Low carb diet n’Pbc
Today, my doc informed me that a low carb diet was best to bring down my cholesterol. That makes no sense especiallly with a Pbc possibility. Those with Pbc do u have lowfat diets or low carb. It seems like low carb is more lipid rich n bad for liver

Free triiodothyronine level correlates with statin responsiveness in acute myocardial infarction
Just possibly, low T3 is the underlying issue - rather than why statins have poor responsiveness in at least some patients. [i]J Geriatr Cardiol. 2018 Apr; 15(4): 290–297. doi: 10.11909/j.issn.1671-5411.2018.04.009 PMCID: PMC5997620

The Mystery of Coffee and Diabetes
"The UCLA researchers have found that a protein called sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) somehow lowers insulin resistance. Most coffee drinkers greatly increased levels of SHBG in the UCLA study. The people with higher SHBG were the ones who didn’t develop diabetes. A 2009 study in The New England

Dickensian gruel and a medium lettuce leaf ... Hard Times indeed
I posted a reply to Lin-Calif this morning extolling the virtues of low carb - my doctor phoned just now with the good news I've reduced my HbA1c level from 54 to 49, she will 'unlabel' me as Type 2 at 48.. hooray! BUT, says dear Doctor, my potassium level is increasing so here we go again, researching

New trainers bought after gait analysis and trying loads of trainers and running in each pair. It is really worth getting this done. Went out and done my run no pain in foot or lateral leg. Only problem still getting pins and needles and numbness, still lacing too tight. Going to change route next week

I wish I wasnt the only one in the world :-(
I am one of the strangest diabetics doctors have met.. I am one of a kind and I wish it wasnt like that. No doctor has an answer to my question and it scares me. I was diagnosed 1 year ago at the age of 18 (T1) and Im not on any medication, no insulin, nothing. But my GAD test will always show that

Hi. So I know that symptoms of diabetes is exsessive thirst and urination, but I’m not sure if mine is excessive. I’ve been awake for about 7 hours and I’ve had 3 litres of water and still feel thirsty, I’ve been to the toilet 7 times today and I’ve had headaches. This has been happening for a few days
