High blood sugar - pre transplant?

Hi all, has anyone experienced a high rise in their blood sugars pre-transplant?

I’ve never been on meds for diabetes as I’ve always kept it under control through my diet. However I’m now experiencing really high blood sugar levels and I’m not sure why. I’m on protein supplement drinks which I know are partly responsible but in the past week they have increased significantly again.

I’ve asked for an appointment with a diabetic nurse but would be great to hear from anyone that’s experienced this and what I can do to improve them in the meantime. Thanks!

Not heard of this before. My partner was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic post transplant. It was the long term steroids that caused it apparently.xx

Yeah I’d heard that becoming diabetic post transplant is quite common but I just really can’t understand why mine are suddenly spiking as the only meds I am on is a low dose of diuretic. It seems to be linked to my ascites getting worse.

Hope your partner is doing well!
