New study shows eating 66g more fruit and veg every day can cut the risk of getting type 2 diabetes by 25%
Hi everyone, There's an interesting study carried out by Cambridge Uni that eating just 66g more fruit and veg every day can cut the risk of getting type 2 diabetes by 25% as we have many members who are pre-diabetic I think this is very important to know. Please see: https://www.trendswide.com/an-extra-portion-of-fruit-or-veg-can-cut-your-risk-of-developing-diabetes

Diet
I have high blood sugar and hypothyroid have done keto before which was good for blood sugar but I didn’t find it long term sustainable. I’m planning to do a keto period again and then try vegan/wfpb after. I felt well on keto and I’m sure the high fat feeds hormones but get concerned about the animal

Don’t know if this is aloud...
Hello everybody, this is just a question for a bit of advice really. What it is, lately i’ve been becoming increasingly more thirsty and going to the bathroom frequently and instantly i thought it’s diabetes. Now my dad, uncles and grandad have all got a mixture of type one and two, sadly my uncle passed

Does metformin and Myo-Inositol work?
Hello everyone. I hope everyone's okay with everything that is going on in the world right now. I just needed some advice. Been TTC since mid 2017. No pregnancies so far. Been diagnosed with Pcos. Got referred to gynaecologist in 2018. Tried clomid, tamoxifen and still did not manage to ovulate regularly

What remedy would you suggest for carbuncles? I was detected with glucose irregularities. I took Metformin for some time, but then I had discontinued it. Now, I take herbal medication to control sugar levels. However, recently I got carbuncles on my leg. I am planning to take liv 52. Suggest treatment

Taurine Question
I just bought some powdered Taurine. I figured why consume more capsules than necessary each day. The instructions say to take it on an empty stomach (dissolved in water, I assume). I thought all vitamins and minerals and supplements were better absorbed with food. Anybody else taking their Taurine on

Metformin just private?
I have PCOS and for my new round of IVF I was asked to take Metformin to reduce the risk of overstimulation. My fertility clinic sent a letter to my GP to put me on Metformin and get the bloodwork for it done beforehand. Now my GP said they will just do the (necessary) blood work if I pay for it privately

Pregablin and raised blood sugar
Hello friends Hope you’re all well. Quick question: is anyone on Pregablin and if so do you notice your blood sugar is on the high side? I’m not Diabetic and normally suffer from low blood sugar if anything else, but since I’ve been on Pregablin I noted that when I’ve checked my blood sugars it’s higher

Appetite
Anyone experienced similar to me? I went on a very low carb, adequate protein (around 100g per day) and high fat diet almost twelve months ago. Didn’t really exercise until beginning C25K two weeks ago. Here’s the point. I’ve found now I’m eating less. The exercise has taken my appetite away. I was already

First study of COVID-19 patients with diabetes shows that 10% die within seven days of hospital admission.
The first study of COVID-19 to specifically analyse the effect of the disease in hospitalised patients with diabetes has found that one in ten patients dies within 7 days of hospital admission, and one in five is intubated and mechanically ventilated by this point. The research is published in Diabetologia

1st consolidation run
Wow it's hot, 07.15am. Only managed 20min think it was a mixture of heat and groin discomfort. Still not sure if it's a groin strain or tight hip flexor, even though I always stretch after a run . How can I tell the difference ? Also Is couch to 5k+available on android?

Intermittent Fasting
How to move from standard modern eating to IF
* Start with lowering carbs and increasing fat. * Cut out snacks and move to 3 meals a day only. * Extend your overnight fast to make sure it's 12 hours. Then you are 12:12 IF. Well done! At that point, you could start skipping breakfast or dinner

Do fertility supplements work and are they safe?
Hi, I would really appreciate some advice from anybody that has any knowledge or experience of using male fertility supplements. It seems to be a very grey area with mixed information so I’m hoping for some help/clarity. To cut a long story short, when my wife and I didn’t conceive after nearly 3 years
