Dealing with heavy cold / flu
Hi guys, Just came down with a heavy cold. I’m taking all the usual non prescription stuff at the mo and I’m dealing with it. But I had a bout of anxiety last night brought on by the coughing and my chest tightening up etc. I think what’s worrying me is the possibility of developing a chest infection

Big issues
Seeing a neurologist (not the one for RLS) for the horrible pain and numbness in my hand that’s from last year’s flu shot (which caused the very rare condition of transverse myelitis.) I have already been taking 1200 mg gabapentin for the RLS which was totally controlling it until i was put on Cymbalta

Neuro appointment today - Ocrevus discussion
Hi All, Just wanted to share a little about the discussion I had with my neuro today at my appointment. I told him what my niece and her husband said to me about vaccines and Ocrevus. (Both of them are in medicine.) He confirmed what they told me...that timing of vaccinations after starting on Ocrevus

Underlying Autoimmune Condition? Immunosuppressed, on Immunosuppressants / Chemotherapy? Avoid Contact With Recipients of Nasal Flu Vaccine.
Hi All Not quite on topic but perhaps relevant to those who may have additional autoimmune conditions or other health issues, so here goes... The nasal flu vaccine contains live forms of flu virus which have been weakened (attenuated) and whilst not dangerous to those in good health, the vaccine may

Just wondering if anyone knows this? I work in a school, where today the kids are all receiving their nasal flu spray, am I ok to be around them today considering it's a live virus? I'm on 20mg mtx? I've found online advice regarding ur own child receiving it but not anything about being in contact with

Flu jab advisable or not?
I would like advice on the wisdom of having the flu jab which my surgery is offering me. I have Hashimoto's and am 65 - diagnosed with an under active thyroid 25 years ago - I'm wondering whether, as Hashimoto's is an auto-immune disease, it would be wise not to have the flu jab in case my immune system

Hypothyroidism after flu jab
I was recommended to have my first ever flu jab this autumn as I had open heart surgery to repair a heart valve in May this year. I recovered really well from the heart op ( I am a healthy 53 yr old) and was really getting my energy back until I had the flu jab in Oct. Within a month I had put on 4

POST-FLAIR RECOVERY
Our son and daughter-in=law came to visit in late October and both were just getting over upper respiratory infections, then my husband got a flu shot and of course got the flu, so naturally I ended up catching it, too. It really wasn't even that bad, but OMG, how the MS moved in and took over my entire

Recovery 5k run...made a few mistakes 🤔
After the achievement of the 10k on Saturday, I planned to do some other stuff this week, starting with an easy 5k recovery run today. The trouble was, I'd been itching to have a go at the C25K+ speed podcast, so I listened to it yesterday to get a gist of what it entailed. The slow pace is 150, and

Flu Jab
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has been refused a flu jab this year despite always having one previously? My daughter has asthma and had heart surgery as a baby. She recently moved to Hampshire but previously lived in Wales, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. All previous doctors have given her a flu

Flu jab with hashimotos
So I took my time this year trying to decide if to have the flu jab as it's recommended for asthma but not so much for hashimotos. I had it yesterday and have been very ill since, extreme vertigo, sore throat, lumps in mouth and what I can only describe as a hot tingling through my body. Has anyone else
