Flu comes with a raging temperature and can kill you..Viruses unfortunately are not covered by the flu jab..they often start with a sore throat and a cold..On a weak immune system or when your defenses are low you are more prone to catching bugs.

Think yourself lucky you have had that flu jab and cure that cold, sounds like it is getting nasty..

Don’t let anything linger

Especially in winter.. xx

Hello guytane .

Flu jabs don't stop you from getting a cold. Influenza can be extremely dangerous and for us with lung issues it can be fatal. Antibodies from vaccinations provide protection from infection. You can still get it, it will just be milder. I am getting mine tomorrow. 😑

I'm sorry you feel so unwell. Please call your hospital if you feel bad. You may need antibiotics.

Take care.

It seems you had infection off some sort rather than the Flu if it had been the Flu you would still be on your back xx

The flue jab only protects us from certain strains of the flue. the ones the health athority think will be prelavent in the following winter.flue is a killer and the flue jab saves lives i think its worth haveing. It sounds like you had a virus witch is awfull and can often lay you realy low im glad you are on the mend now

The flu jab is a dead virus and can't give you flu. It doesn't stop you getting it but does mitigate the worst effects. However I agree with the others that this sounds more like a chest infection.

I hope you feel better soon.
