New & Confused: Any tests to help decide on Lap?
Hi all, Not quite sure how to begin. Have been reading like crazy across forums and also on pubmed, but info/studies are frequently contradictory, controversial and/or limited. I am so confused. I am going to insert my history here, but please feel free to skip ahead to the question. I am not sure how

May have endometriosis, mirena coil the only thing offered to help!
I have just come back from the doctors and she said she thinks I could have endometriosis. The treatment option she gave me is the mirena coil apparently that’s what they do now to help calm symptoms. I don’t really want to have the coil. I had a bad experience with the mini pill and this coil also uses

Hi I was wondering if someone could help 😊 10 days ago I had a Mirena IUD fitted for suspected Endometriosis. It took three IUDs before it worked as the first 2 broke on insertion (assuring) Since then, I’ve really been suffering with extreme fatigue, dizziness, headache along with bloating, severe

Hello everyone. I was hoping I could get some advice from people in a similar position... I am about to be month 3 on zoladex and livial, and although it’s working day to day I’m still flaring up every two or three weeks and bleeding.... which isn’t ideal. And the side effects I’m not sure are worth

Day after hysteroscopy
Hi all, had my hysteroscopy yesterday, and I must admit the GA has really taken its toll on me this time. The consultant found numerous polyps which makes sense as to why I was bleeding so so much and had messed up cycles. He said they can just occur when I asked why I’d had them. He’s taken them out

Endo and the kidney!
Hey guys just wondering if any of you have had experience with endo on your kidneys? after my laparoscopy the surgeon said there was a lot on my left kidney and she wasn't able to remove it all. I am waiting for biopsy results so haven't actually spoken to my GP about future plans yet but I wondered

Surgery advice!
Hello ladies, I’m due to have my first lap this Thursday with a potential overnight stay according to the surgeon. I am also going to get a Mirena at the same time as I’ve been diagnosed with adeno already. Do you guys have any advice for what to take, eat and ask? Anything to help healing? A good last

Breast pain after mirena insertion
I had a mirena coil fitted in May and since then I get extremely painful breasts about twice a month. The pain is very similar to the breast pain from engorgement when breast feeding and my right breast in particular is noticeably swollen. It lasts a few days and then goes? Does this happen to anybody

Mirena coil ... keep or remove?
Hi girls! I had a laparoscopy for removal of Stage 4 endo last year in September and the gynaecologist recommended me to get the Mirena coil as a way to prevent endo from returning. He made a strong case for it being the best way to make sure endo is kept under control, so I followed his recommendation

Help! I had my second laparoscopy 3 years ago (first op 5 years ago when I was diagnosed) .... had a mirena coil fitted and had a brilliant 3 years. No bleeding, no pain, no mood swings, lost two stone, started a rugby team, fitness was the best it’s ever been even though I was going through a messy

Mirena, hypothyroidism + menopause. Good or bad. Also advice on MSD please.
I am wondering if anybody has any advice re Mirena coil, hypothyroidism and menopause? I’ve had four Mirenas since my son was born. Have been told there are links between Mirena and thyroid dysfunction. I’m booked to have it removed next week but told it masks menopause symptoms so also anxious about

Lap
Currently recovering from lap. Found I have severe endometriosis. Cysts on both ovaries. Drained cysts as couldn’t be removed, ovaries were touching. Organs sticking together. Haven’t been able to clear it all just done what they can and suppressed with mirena coil. In agony. And not dealing with it

I have had endo for many years. 5 surgeries, Mirena and 10 years of Zoladex/Tibolone. I have recently been suffering with anxiety
Depression and wondered if I am going through the “real” menopause. How will I know if I am forever in a “surgical” menopause? How will I know when to stop taking it and what will happen? Advice please.

Endo is hell
So go on holiday.......during my holiday epic flare ups. Tried all treatment options. On Zoladex with mirena plus pain killers and occasionally amitryptyline. Anyway I’m so shattered on this particular day, just trying to push myself to do things you know what it’s like. We walked a new route and ended

What's my next option?
Had my lap in January this year where they removed some tissue and inserted a mirena coil. Was in absolute hell for the next few months as i was told "i'd have to wait 3 - 6 months" to be seen again. I waited 8 months. Put on Decapeptyl SR injections (i'm terrified of needles by the way, so i've been

Mirena or implant?
Hi all, I have been to the gynaecologist and they advised me to book an appointment for to get the Mirena (IUS) to treat the symptoms of endometriosis. I did some research and I found out that you could also get the implant, which I think is a less invasive procedure. For those of you who have either

I'm feeling a bit confused
Hello ladies, It's been awhile since I have last posted but feeling confused and don't know what to think about the information I have been given. I seen a gynecologist the other day. He was very supportive and spent a lot of time with me. Wrote everything down about my symptoms and what I've been experiencing
