Mirena or implant?

Hi all,

I have been to the gynaecologist and they advised me to book an appointment for to get the Mirena (IUS) to treat the symptoms of endometriosis. I did some research and I found out that you could also get the implant, which I think is a less invasive procedure. For those of you who have either of them, what would you suggest? I am really scared of getting the IUS because of the pain.

Thanks!

I’ve had both.

Pros and cons to both really.

I didn’t like how their is a scar on your arm from the implant insertion and removal and having to wear a bandage/cover the bruise. But it does last 3 years.

Coil was a little more discomfort afterwards but I do think it’s similar to a smear. I heard lots of horror stories and put it off for years!
