Medically retired from work in 2011 due to fibro, CFS, sleep apnea, arthritic spine and breast cancer (double

Portacath
I have had a
mastectomy
on the other arm of my body, sorry really I mean I had all the lymph nodes removed and so was told to steer clear of having BP's etc taken from that arm but until the Portacath is fitted I think I shall opt for my next chemo cannula to get inserted into the 'bad' arm, Any advice

Truncal and Breast Lymphedema following 2 surgeries and radiotherapy
No professional seems to be able to help ( some mention liposuction, my first surgeon thinks the only way is a
mastectomy
), has anyone tried the pentoxifylline-vitamin E combination to rid of radiation fibrosis?

Laparoscopy Recovery in time for Christmas?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could advise regarding anticipated recovery for laparoscopy. I was reviewed in clinic in October after an ultrasound scan which showed a 10cm right ovarian endometrioma. I am scheduled for a diagnostic lap and dye test with cystectomy on December 23rd. I should be

Little bit scared..
I think I gave you my history on my first post so I wont repeat it all, although I did`nt say then that I had been thru Breast cancer, had double
mastectomy
and round the same time had lots of infections. Feeling well now so am hoping for a bit of good news, but bit worried at the same time.

How long must I wait before I can be referred for IVF?
I've got a diagnosis of Stage IV endometriosis and have had 2 laps with both ovarian cystectomy and excision of endometriosis. I'm about to have my merina coil removed as I am getting married in 3 weeks time and we want to start trying for a baby ASAP. 2 years ago after my second lap and GnRH treatment

Gall bladder removal
I had to have my gall bladder out last year, and since then my IBS has got rather worse. I've been reading about our gut bacteria and all that and wonder if having my gall bladder out is the cause for my bloating and diarrhoea since then. Any suggestions as to what would help? Can't put the GB back

educating the educated
As someone quite new to these forums, despite 20 years of being hypothyroid, thanks to Hashimoto's, the common theme throughout is how ill-educated and uninformed GPs and even many endocrinologists are in the realities of living with and treating this condition. Surely there must be something we can

Swallowing issues and bile reflux
Hi I had a total gastrectomy 25 months ago now and continue to have swallowing issues with both eating and drinking where it is painful and it seems it is where the join is that causes the problem, due to this I am staying around 10 stones plus or minus having lost 4.5 stones previously 2 when in hospital

Strange reading TSH 8.7 T4 21.8 - confused!
She's suffered on and off with issues getting her levels right since (in the meantime she had a
mastectomy
due to ductal carcinoma in situ) Anyway about a year ago she suffered a slight slip on a floor - didn't fall over but was enough to cause an injury to her back.
