What to expect at fertility counselling?
Hello, just seeking a little bit of info from anyone in the know...what should be being provided fertility counsellors? What are they there to do? What, if anything, are they not supposed to be doing or is outside of their remit? Might sound like a silly question but without divulging anything personal

My first post was filled with anger and frustration having just received my wife's diagnosis of PSP with the consultant giving her a 2 to 6 month prognosis due to her rapid deterioration where she went from being able to walk around a supermarket one week with her unable to stand the next and then being

Hi guys,
I am trying to help my ex-boyfriend get over anxiety and depression (still don't know if I'm the person who should be doing this) but he feels suicidal and hopeless and called me for help. I don't know what to do and I am almost shaking from this new responsibility. How do I help

Looking for the light
I snap at times and end up yelling and feel awful. I called and made myself a counseling appointment because I am dealing with a lot of anxiety over what is happening with my son. He is in middle school and on 30 mg vyvanse and 1 mg intuniv. He starts to rebound right after school and we go through

EAU18 - Copenhagen. Hormone-Naive PCa.
[The European Association of Urology [EAU] annual meeting took place in Copenhagen last month.] The lead paragraph is something of a downer & need not be read - so I moved it to below my signature. I know that some here are interested in oligometastatic PCa. Interesting quote from the end of the presentation

Counselling costs stink
So, I've finally found some one who can help me to deal with my oh's behaviour. But she charges £120 a hour. And this is who the local headway group recommended !!! This is disgusting. How are we supposed to get the help we so desperately need when it costs so much. Come on Headway if you are recommending

Me
Hello, I have tried this website before and thought it would be a good idea to try again. I stopped using it because a couple of my posts got removal when I was in a very vulnerable state. I then felt unwelcome and completely isolated myself. I have no friends in my life so I thought it would be a good

Therapy
So I thought I’d kind of share how my day went. I missed a counseling appointment Friday because I was afraid and I couldn’t find someone to walk with me. This morning I got an email from the therapist to see if I wanted to reschedule, and she made an appointment for me today. I was scared at first

After reading lots of posts on here about heart situations and gaining back confidence with cardiac rehab, advice and counselling for the future, I realise that someone in my situation doesn’t appear to be catered for. It was discovered in the latter part of last year that I have moderate/severe aortic

I am here for you!
Hello everyone, My name is EmLee (a play on a mix of my first and middle names, what I would like to think of as a nickname for me in a different life) and I will be graduating from college next month with a bachelors in psychology and spanish. My dream job would be to counsel teenagers and young adults

Hard mornings.
Every morning it’s so tough. My mind races with crazy thoughts of suicide even though I know I can’t and won’t do this. It’s absurd really that every day for the last month this happens. Worry about next week, next month, next school year carpool, etc etc etc. On meds and have been to counseling many

13-year old son w/ADHD and executive function deficiencies
My son is 13 years old, was identified for "high ability" classes through 4th grade and the gifted/talented class in 5th and 6th. In 5th grade, however, his grades dropped dramatically - mostly because he was unable to concentrate and put forth the effort to understand material during the day, missed

How am I going to get through this?
My boss told me last week that she is 12 weeks pregnant & I already can’t cope!!! I know I’m being selfish but I can’t help it! I really don’t know how I’m going to cope with seeing her growing bump, the inevitable conversations with others about it, the how lovely for them’s & the does it make you

Final round mixed feelings
Well it’s the start of our last ivf and to say mixed feelings is an understatement. Embryos not so great, on steroids as killer cells slightly high so all in all not high chances. I feel really mixed. Last time I did everything perfectly and had perfect results and scans then miscarried. I think I’m

Tired and fed up
So tired of being depressed. It’s been over 20 years I have done Counselling and medication and still I just manage to scrape by. I am about ready to give up. I do things and feel a change for a while but not long enough to make a change in my life. Anyone has any advice for how to go on when it feels

Counselling
Does anyone out there know of any counsellors who specialise in counselling partners of those who've had a brain injury.

Does anyone else take this medication? If so how do you get long with it. After a period of suffering with all manner of odd symptoms, my GP has today advised taking 'something' to help with anxiety. I have usually had Diazepam 2mg to take as and when I feel really anxious and a prescription for 20

Wanting to know it's alright.
