Does anyone out there know of any counsellors who specialise in counselling partners of those who've had a brain injury.

contact Headway - they may know what's available in your area. Otherwise ask your doctor or Social Services.

yes, your local headway group. you can go along too, meet people who are in the same situation as you or maybe a little further along in their journey, as for your husband, hell meet the poor unfortunates who put up with us.

hell learn more from this than a councillor who hasnt got the first idea what its like to live with someone with a brain injury 24/7....................and the information you get is free and you make new friends!!!

I don't know but I hope so I currently feel like my life is fading into nothing. Waiting for my fiancé to come out of a coma is the worse experience ive ever endured. I FEEL so helpless and scared and sad all that time. I dont know what else to do with myself. I just want him to look at me, hug me its so hard. good luck

My husband left me again yesterday. His behaviour post sub arachnoid haemorrhage is slowly getting worse.

I can't say or do anything without I'm wrong. Help is slow coming HIS waiting lists are so long.

Part of the problem is he's thinks he's back to normal. 12 weeks in he still has no insight. He's been going into work this week even though he's still off sick. He worked 12.5 hours yesterday. I did speak to him earlier and he sounds terrible.

The hardest part is having to sit back and watch helpless to do anything xx

Hi Maroe.

As well as headway try through your gp. Let them know the problems and help you need.

We tried relate but they felt out of their depth due to my bi.

We ended up going to a mental health counsellor......It was the closest they came up with. They listened and helped us both.

Keep on at your gp. They will eventually help if only to pass you on.

Good luck

Pax

Thanks for the reply. I've spoken to my GP he's had a previous bi and still didn't know of any one. I've messaged the local headway group that we are members of. The headway nurse is looking into it. I've googled it the nearest I can find is 2 hours away. That's just not doable.

We too have done relate but as you say it doesn't work when one had a bi and is unaware of their behaviour.

Will ring the headway support number on Monday.

I'm stuck.
