Hello everyone,
My name is EmLee (a play on a mix of my first and middle names, what I would like to think of as a nickname for me in a different life) and I will be graduating from college next month with a bachelors in psychology and spanish. My dream job would be to counsel teenagers and young adults who are experiencing depression and anxiety face to face, but that would require a doctorate, and I am tired of school for now. I have a wonderful job with the opportunity for advancement so I am happy with the career I have currently.
Because I love psychology and I love helping people, I have sought out forums and this is the best one that I have found so far. My psychology degree has prepared me for a counseling grad program, but since I don't want to go to grad school, yet the world's loss is y'alls gain haha.
I have knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy programs, some knowledge of neuroscience behind mental illness and treatment of it with prescription drugs, experience doing research in psychology, and personal experience with depression and anxiety. I have a certificate saying I am qualified to help people whom I believe to need psychological help and maintain all confidential and ethical requirements as stated in the ethics code of the APA.
That being said, I plan to frequent these forums to help where I can because I honestly want to help those who need it because no one should have to go through these kind of illnesses alone.
If you guys have any questions or if I can help in any way, just let me know!
