I currently self inject once a week - I started about 3 months ago as I was having lots of pins and needles and burning in my hands, arms and feet. GP agreed to 10 weekly injections and I’ve continued with those without mentioning the self injecting. I always had a really strong reaction one or two days after each GP injection in that my symptoms would go mad and then settle. However, they came back in about 4 weeks. My serum B12 levels are now above range (GP still testing), but after having an injection at the surgery last week, I’ve had an increase in symptoms. I have had tinnitus since December and this seems to also be worsening slightly. I have Hashimoto’s and recently my Levo was increased as my TSH had shot up. Latest bloods show this has now decreased to less than 1. My T3 is a bit on the low side but has increased a bit. My question is whether I should have started with EOD injections - should I do this now? I was a bit worried at the time about self injecting at all, so decided to try weekly. My pins and needles had virtually gone. I’m trying to get everything up to a good level - have been supplementing folic acid. I need to up ferritin a bit. Vitamin D is OK. Any advice and reassurance gratefully received. I still finding myself questioning the B12 - but I started from a level of 176 this time last year and my mum had PA. I had asked to be tested as I was having pins and needles then.

Increase injections?
Hi! I just want to share my own experience. I started at B12 injections every 10 days, but my symptoms would come back so I kept pushing the injections closer and closer. Now I find that I can go 5 days without getting symptoms, and just to be safe and sure that I am not depleted, I get injections every 4 days. This is working well for me. I have not had any blood tests at all. I just go by my symptoms. My tinnitus is getting a little better, but is very slow. Pins and needles in feet are only occasional. B12 has saved my life.
Thank you! Good to hear your tinnitus is improving too.
Only you know how you feel.Sometimes it's keeping going with chosen frequency with ups and downs .
Healing is nor in a linear line.
Also depends on how much you can do .
All i can add is that it takes time.
For me years with gradual improvements.
Sometimes more Injections is not the answer but definitely to keep them going.
I've had to learn to pace .
Hate it but very necessary .
