Do I even have asthma?
I've struggled with breathing issues for years on and off, but part of me is now wondering if it's all just anxiety/ reflux related. I had lung function tests which all came back normal (FEV1/ FVC ratio 85%, Feno 10 at most, best peak flow is 500 and its never really different when I'm having a shortness

Raised Creatinine in urine
Hello everyone I was diagnosed with PMR in January and am now down to 4.5mg prednisolone. Having piled on the pounds at first I have been on a low carb diet since March. I do eat quite a bit of meat and a recent urine dip stick test showed raised creatinine. Could this be caused by high protein/low carb

Asthma or anxiety?
Feel like my chest is tight like I can't take a deep breath and a bit breathless. My peak flow is pretty much normal. I get anxiety around bedtime so I don't know if its that or my asthma!!

asthma as chest tightness
is anyone's asthma (while on all the usual meds) presents as tightness in the chest? No wheeze no cough? Spirometry normal and mannitol test negative? Peak flow doesn't drop much when symptomatic unless severe like with chest infection? I'm just fed up with the severe asthma clinic I'm under : they

Advice
With asthma is it the peak flow dropping the first sign of an attack? I had a bad attack last November and have developed ptsd as a result. I now get awful panic attacks at night that leave me feeling like I can't breathe. I struggle to tell the difference between it neong apanic attack or asthma related

Silent reflux symptoms?
I've posted a few times in various places here about some symptoms which I can't work out. My GP can't either, and their final diagnosis is it must just be stress and I should take antidepressants or put up with it because they aren't going to investigate any further. I don't like the look of those antidepressant

Coming off Montelukast
Hallo,Has anyone out there successfully just stopped Montelukast. I've been taking it for 2 years and am dubious as to whether it's doing anything for my asthma. My anxiety, however, has worsened considerably. !! Not sure if it's the montelukast or not. I was thinking of trialing doing without it for

Dietary restrictions and the workplace...
Hi all,I am wondering what your experiences with working and your diet? My department got rewarded with a pizza party. I requested a salad to accommodate low sodium diet. I was told no special treatment. Won't be showing up to that lunch despite being the team lead. Thoughts? Am I being the unreasonable

Peak Flow Down After Chest Infection
This past week I've had a chest infection. I got antibiotics and am feeling a lot better, but my peak flow is still down. I normally have a PF of 410ish. I've been between 270-320 all week. I was taking my reliever as instructed before I went to the doctors, and when I went they changed my asthma plan

Broncholidator Reversibility Test
Hi, I posted a few days ago about my team wanting to do a broncholidator reversibility test and FeNO before they put me forward for biologics. I wasn't going to do the test, then decided to do it, incase it did show reversibility to save time waiting for a referral to Wynthenshawe as my current hospital

Swollen lymph nodes in neck
Hello everyone. This feels like a bit of a random question. I am taking Fostair 200/6 and have developed swollen and tender lymph nodes on the left side of my neck. I have no other symptoms of any infection. Could this be linked to the steroid inhaler? I haven’t contacted the doctor yet as I was waiting

Covid recovery
Hi, I tested positive on 15th December and was positive for 14 days. It attacked my lungs this time and was bad. From day 1 I was prescribed steroids and a 2 week course of Docyciclyne to take alongside my nebuliser. I’m now on my third course of steroids and my peak flow is still only about 310. Heart

mucus plugs (plastic bronchitis)
Hi, sorry for gross question but... A long story short: I was in hospital for a severe asthma flare up in September for 12 days (when I was first diagnosed). I was on oxygen and not improving. They gave me a lot of saline and salbutamol nebs. What eventually worked for me was that I coughed up a lot

Seretide and Addisons disease
I was diagnosed with Addisons in May 2023 and have been using inhaled steroids / seretide for chronic Asthma for 20+ years. My endocrine consultant told me to stop taking my seretide which I declined to do, as Asthma extremely well controlled, unless he refers me to Asthma team at hospital to manage
