INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITY - Research (UK)
One of the NIHR liver partnership research teams in the UK is working on a study to encourage patients with a diagnosis of liver disease to regularly attend for cancer screening. Antihistamines and NAFLD
Hi! I was recently diagnosed with non alcoholic liver disease a few months ago. I’ve been suffering really badly with my hay fever this year. I’m currently on 120mg Fexofenadine, I have been for several years, and Dymista nasal spray. I was just wondering what antihistamines others with liver disease

Contrast ultrasound for liver hemangioma?
Hi me again. I had a normal ultrasound which detected a possible liver hemangioma. The hospital are sending me for a contrast ultrasound to confirm. Online it looks like an MRI is the usual way to confirm this. Is a contrast dye ultrasound as effective? Thanks.

Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase level
I had a blood test conducted by my GP surgery. One of the test, not my normal profile, was this: Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase level (XaES3) 118 iu/L [reference range 0 - 59] I do understand that it's a liver test, and my other LFT's were normal. Any incite to the meaning of this test in respect

saving my dad
Hi all! My dad was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He is only 64 years old and last year this same time he was in great health! Drs are unsure if it’s IPF or another severe form of pulmonary fibrosis. He had a lung biopsy that came back inconclusive. He relies on full time oxygen and coughs

liver ast/alt
Good day, i recently got Bloodwork done. My billirubine was raised 71u/mol and AST 81. My ALT was 25, GGT normal and ALP also. I was a binge drinker for 15 years. Never drank daily. My fear is cirrhosis, with the ast alt ratio. Have had 2 ultrasounds that were complete normal and 1 MRI with out contrast

Is carvedilol making you cold?
I recently had my Carvedilol increased to 6.25mg twice a day. Lately, I am freezing to the bone. I turn my heating up and up and am still cold when everyone else says its like a sauna. I just wondered if anyone else has this? It could also be my recent addition of diabetes medication, Sitagliptin. Never

A really long post, I’m sorry.
Hello, this might turn into a ramble, so apologies in advance. My husband was diagnosed with F3/F4 Bridging fibrosis about 6 weeks ago. It’s been a very emotional and scary few weeks made worse by lots of googling! I found this forum this week, and since reading, feel a lot more positive going forward

Some advice re draining fluid?
11m post transplant. Had a clinic at QE today. Not feeling too good, feeling tired, bloated etc. Have gained about 8-10kg since March. They (bless 'em) fitted me in for an ultrasound, and found "pockets of free fluid." Is this the same as ascites? Can you get ascites after transplant...? Didn't
