Private Health care for second opinion
Has anyone used private health care for a second opinion? I’m 7 weeks post Fibroscan and still nothing in writing. I had a call from a hepatologist last week. He hadn’t seen the scan either but said based on my memory of it I have Cirrhosis. I want someone to give me a proper diagnosis. Bupa have agreed

Severe Lung Scarring from Pneumonia
Hello, I have posted about my dad who is in his late 70s in ICU for severe pneumonia here before, but here is the current situation. At the moment, he is stable and he is close to weaning off sedation completely and starting ventilator weaning (trachy) soon. His ventilator setting is O2 35%, Saturation

Second kidney transplant
Hi, My nephrologist is putting in the application for me to go back onto the transplant list. I am very lucky as I have had my first transplant for over 28 years. My GFR is running at 12. Something I wondered about is do they remove my previous transplant and put the new one in the same place? I

Severn Bridge 10k - long post warning ⚠️
Everyone else has written brilliant posts on the Race Support Forum but here is version 4 and I’ve put it on the Bridge Forum to give those on the journey to 10k an inkling of the excitement of a 10k race! I have been wanting to do the Severn Bridge 10k for years, having read many race reports by

Fibroscan Results
Howdy, I've recently had a scan after increased liver enzymes and an ultrasound nine months ago which showed a fatty liver as a result. Naturally, it motivated weight loss with a cleaner diet which meant a BMI change from 31.2 to 27.1 - so quite some change ! The fibroscan results noted 4.7 KPA and

I Feel like I should be grateful to be on the waiting list for a new liver. But I really don’t feel grateful to towards the kind doctors.
I hate the way I feel about the thought of a new
liver
transplant
. I have made it know to doctors about my feeling towards a new
liver
transplant
. I feel great at the moment and I only on one type of tablet a day. For my
liver
condition.

Hi all. I am age 24 male. History with excessive alcohol for the past 5 years. I recently got a full blood work carried out at my GP and my liver enzymes came back as ok, but I don’t really understand what any of it means. I tried calling my GP and it’s like trying to milk blood out of a stone

Pain below right ribcage
I have had multiple CT scans and MRIs and none of them show cirrhosis, but they show fatty liver. I've had a burning pain below my right rib cage for over a month...it hurts bad! My last liver enzyme tests were within range. I have been on a diet since this started and I've lost 18lbs, but still have
