fatty liver
does anyone know the average size of a liver for a woman who’s 50. I’ve been told that mine is 12.5 which indicates fatty liver. 12 months ago my liver was normal. I stopped drinking and now it’s fatty. I’m so confused and having no support. Some advise say no dairy then others say it’s ok

Lifestyle health liver limbo
l was told almost 3 years ago that my liver had stabilised after a 9.8 fibro and literally to go away. Not heard anything since, so far I have had cirrhosis, cusp of cirrhosis, steatosis, stabilised on my notes. LFTs all normal, 115 over 74, 62 bpm, still overweight but no longer pre diabetic 40. Pooh

GFR levels post transplant
hi, anyone got any idea as to what their GFR level, or creatinine or urea levels in blood were 2 years onwards post Tx. I was shocked today to find my GFR is 32 and until now no one has ever uttered chronic liver disease Stage 3b. That can’t just happen over night and GFR results hasn’t been listed

4-th line of chemo
Hello brave ladies. I would appreciate your experience concerning chemo protocol: Gemzar+ Oxaliplatine. Unefortunately and despite the inhibitor PARP (NIraparib) taken from 7 weeks now, my marker goes up rapidly and I will be facing the 4-th round of chemo called "gemox". At the same time I've developped

I’ve recently been prescribed onto this pill to regulate mood swings and periods. Does anyone know if you can take cod liver oil pills and multivitamins along side? Thank!

Liver transplant aborted
I was diagnosed in early April 22 as needing a liver transplant. Partner told yesterday liver compensated (and off transplant list) - mixed emotions
Partner with ARLD diagnosed 22.12.21 - after 6 months alcohol free was told bloods not improving any more and 'is as good as its going to get, time to consider a transplant' So my partners transplant team were at our local liver unit and since listing his bloods have been steadily improving to the

Holiday insurance companies.....
Hi there, I'm in ireland here. I've compensated cirrhosis for the last four years. I've been very lucky that, I've very few symptoms, as hard going they are. But I cannot find travel insurance anywhere. Not even a high cost plan. Any UK companies anyone can recommend. We are just doing a 1.5 hr flight

ELF score 8.3
I have had several elastography tests, the last one the same week as I took ELF test. It was 4.8kpa, but ELF test shows moderate fibrosis (8.3). Its seems ELF test is more accurate, because on this forum I have found several people who feel smth is wrong with their liver that have normal elastography

Milk thistle - anything to be aware of?
A recent blood panel came back with slightly raised liver enzymes (marginally above the range), for reasons I am looking into. I have read about the benefits of milk thistle supplementation with respect to helping with both liver and thyroid matters. On the whole, the consensus seems to be that it

How is Chronic hepatic encephalopathy diagnosed?
My dad is in hospital with confusion (he's slowly gaining lucidness), where he is being treated for a UTI, and they have told him he has chronic hepatic encephalopathy, and this level of confusion is not reversible. I'm just wondering how this gets diagnosed? He was in hospital over the new year, and

Hi all. Today is the tenth anniversary of my liver transplant and, whilst I still have ups and downs with my health, I have enjoyed the abundance of life that that amazing gift promised to bring. Liver pains and itchiness
Hello. I developed fatty liver 5 years ago but reduced my drinking that was high and changed my diet and after six months it went. But late last year I over done it while on holiday for a fortnight, got carried away, and continued for a while when I got back and the liver pains have returned. I thought
