Cirrhosis
Hi all, my brother undoubtedly has cirrhosis of his liver. He was hospitalised 2 years ago and spent a long time in icu. He made a recovery but hasn’t stopped drinking. He’s recently had blood test and they’ve come back as worrying -alarming. He was due to attend an appointment last week but said it

Don't lose heart - you'll come through
Meant to write this for ages. This forum really helped 3-4 years ago when I got VERY ill & low, lost my job & livelihood, fell out with my family & became very unstable. I'm still on a low dose of carbimazole & still not back to pre-illness energy levels but thankfully I am SOOO much better! Bizarre

High GGT and AST levels
Ive just had my blood tests and concerned with GGT and AST levels. My drinking consumption has increased over the last 18 months during lockdown. Feeling a slight dull pain on my RHS under the lower rib which Im worried about. My doctor said to monitor and carryout another blood test in 8 weeks: AST

Good Evening, I am waiting on Fibroscan results. Does anyone experience RUQ pain with fatty liver, but you do not have fibrosis? Thank you

Here Again
I tried so hard to be positive. I stayed away cos I thought it was making my hypochondria worse but here I am. New bloods done and dr said all satisfactory. Picked a copy up today and bloods like ALT and GtGamma are the same as they were back in Feb. So I’m Feb, April and June dr wasn’t happy with them

I’m on the ‘Cliff Edge’ regarding liver
Diagnosed with alcohol related liver disease. Consultant says I am on the Cliff Edge! Advised not to drink any alcohol for two years and see where we go from there. No mention of severe disease. Just that I’m on the cliff edge. I would like to try non alcoholic beers/wines but there is little information

Transplant assessment
Hi everyone. Just got home after a 9 night stay in Norfolk & Norwich hospital due to Ascites. They drained almost 6 litres from me. I've been home since Friday and already I feel like the Ascites is still filling up. I literally, no exaggeration look 9 months pregnant. I have been informed that they

Not an over action
So I know I have posted here before. Clear labs and ultrasound 6 months ago. I didn’t stop drinking and now for 2 days have liver pain nausea and very light almost white stools and the only thing that points to that is liver disease. Any one else expierce almost white stool. I feel it’s a clear indicator

Advice please
I posted a few week’s ago that I was too scared and ashamed to contact my Doctor as I was fairly sure I had done damage to my Liver due to my drinking. I have now been sober for 6 months. Thanks to the support on here I contacted my Doctor and she ordered blood tests-LFT, FBC and Kidney Function. These

A little bit about me
I am having the pain in my side and I know that I have a swollen liver or what they would call a fatty liver, should I have the cat scan done on me or not, for I just think that it is a way of catching cancer to have it done while it is enflamed

Appointment
Had my appointment today, fibroscan shows 6.5 kpa and fatty liver but nothing serious which is a relief ! The consultant is arranging an MRI to check bile ducts gallbladder etc due to my symptoms, said if that’s clear then he will arrange a HIDA scan. Also took 11 vials of blood today . Feel like crap

So I had my laparoscopic pyeloplasty and so far so good. The urology consultant that performed it also filmed my liver so that the hepatology consultants could have a look at it almost like seeing it in real life. During this operation the urologist confirmed that there is no ascites but confirmed
