As I stated in my first post here, they told me my MRE results were "mild scarring."I thought it was gonna be a lot worse although I know scarring is to be taken seriously.

I am awaiting to see stomach doctor and will no doubt learn more about what I'm dealing with. I have read early fibrosis doesn't usually have symptoms, is this right? I never trusted my US scan result of "fatty liver" because I was experiencing a wide range of cosmetic and physical symptoms, and since I wasn't showing serious late stage symptoms doctor didn't take me seriously. I'm not gonna get into the symptom details other than just say it's typical liver related symptoms. Would all these things be manifesting with just mild scarring? I was under the impression symptoms manifest later in the progression, in a category passed mild. Has anyone here been told there damage is mild scarring but had symptoms indicating its progressed more? Thanks for reading and all responses.

hi Randolph, I can only tell you my situation, as each is different. My specialist said I had acute on chronic. So I guess that is hepatitis on cirrhosis. Lucky me. Ha ha. I believe the hepatitis can cause similar symptoms.

The hepatitis has gone away and my bloods are normal except variably low platelets.

My most recent ultrasound shows mild cirrhosis and that’s about it. The last one was done in the hospital a year ago, and since then I’ve been asymptomatic

I’m not sure if this helps, but it’s something for comparison My ast has always been higher than my alt It was from alcohol 😞

Hope your appointment goes well !

Thanks for your response, Greengal. I'm sorry about your diagnosis but I'm happy you've been asymptomatic. I know everyone with liver problems experiences different things. Some things can be similar but not exact. Thank you, It's next Friday over the phone.

yes the whole fibrosis, cirrhosis, category levels, etc….nomenclature is confusing at best. 🙃

It is confusing. It's been hard dealing with this situation. I'm thinking they will want more tests done in my case. I'm still worried about it. I've gotten a lot of positive responses here so far, so that is good. I had an idea what was happening due to this forum and others dedicated to liver issues. How do you manage to stay positive?

I looked at statistics in great detail, meaning research studies that have been done. I think that there is data that supports a normal lifespan in many circumstances.

Lots of people have all kinds of serious health problems and don’t know. At least we have the advantage of using scientific approaches to help improve our situation the best we can.

Small steps towards goals while enjoying each day

I guess I’m really thankful that I feel as good as I do and to be part of this group

Some people can live a long time with it like you said. You're right, some don't know how serious their condition is. The joy has been so hard for me to see in my current physical and mental state. I'm glad you can experience it. I've been feeling worse of late. Today was rough again. Just so much worry in my mind. Thanks for listening green and talking to me, I appreciate it. Going through a very hard time can feel very lonely. How long did it take you to start feeling better?

I started focusing on diet. Kept a food journal. Occasion massages. Light exercise. Grew plants. Got information. Listen to some music. Etc. small steps.

After about 6 months my digestive system became completely normal and I feeling great!

I then added more exercise, read positive books, did yoga, and further improved my diet. Helped other people. Gradually got even better.

Make small goals - steps They all add up.

Thank you for telling me what steps you took. What digestive issues were you dealing with, and what changes did you make with diet to feel better?

My stomach didn’t feel well. I had indigestion, cramping and irregular bowels. I also have diverticulosis I looked into what foods are healthy for the liver, focused on them (protein, folate, vitamin b/c foods, iron, etc) and kept a journal of what I ate. If my digestive system started bothering me, I’d refer back to my journal and try to identify what bothered it…and eliminate it.

I love fresh veggies, nuts and fruits, but I eliminated some that are hard to digest or cut back on quantities of food with excessive fiber. I did it as a temporary measure so that my system could heal (that is the best way I can describe it)

I don’t know if anyone else has had such an issue or if it was mainly from the diverticulosis .? My digestion is fine now. I still watch not to overdo excessive fiber.

No one told me to do this. I did it because I wanted to feel better and get stronger.

Thanks for sharing details of your experience, Green. I've been experiencing digestive problems over a year now. I will try some of the things you did. My diet still needs to improve, my enzymes have improved from alt 352 ast 181 to alt 58 ast 31.I know changing some things have improved my liver function. What bothers me is generally feeling junky and cosmetic symptoms that make me think my damage is more advanced. It's nice to know your story and how fast you've improved.

I hope it helps. Your enzymes are coming down a lot. That’s great ! Keep up the good work.

My son had food intolerances when he was 2 and I did a similar process. It did work. He was underweight and looked sickly before i tried this

It’s so great when you feel so good that you forget you had problems before. It is so much easier to eat the healthiest food and build muscle, if you don’t have to worry about your digestive system.

I hope you’re feeling non-junky all of the time soon. 😀
