I was referred for a fibroscan after a blood test. It took approx 11 months for scan which happened a few weeks before Christmas. The scan revealed I had nafld with a score of 36. This was all conducted by a specialist nurse, as yet I have not seen a consultant and had no further tests or scans.
I had an appointment to see the consultant in may but this has now been moved to July. I have given up alcohol and have lost some weight. I have not had any contact with the gastroenterologist or any correspondence confirming findings or referrals to dietician or anyone else.
I have further had a heart condition diagnosed and have been scheduled to have a pacemaker fitted. The support from cardiology has been good.
My question I suppose is; is it common to be left without any support from the nhs for so long after a liver diagnosis and what advice can be given as with everything going on I am struggling?
