was interested if anyone with NAFLD/NASH diagnosis and F2 fibrosis have a had consistent low or normal AST/ALT ?
Basically any blood test I have had is right in the normal range, this includes antibodies, platelets etc. How can I be so fatigued if there are no signs in blood work, ever ?
My fibroscan is next Tuesday, I’m preparing myself to expect around 8 kpa. But am also very interested to see what then CAP score is.
I can accept whatever happens, but have lost nearly 12 kgs (down from 92 kgs 3 years ago to 80 kgs now), surely I don’t need to lose another 10% body weight now.
Stopped alcohol this year
I believe we eat healthily, my wife is quite particular about diet.
I’m type 2 Diabetic , since 4 years ago. Well in control my A1C is 6.2, have had it down to 5.9 previously, which Is pretty good.
In other words I gave up sugar 4 years ago.
So what more lifestyle changes do I have to make to get better ?

Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff and hopefully this will reflect in your next round of check ups. It's good news that your inflammation markers are normal - hopefully that means no further damage is occurring. Keep up the good work.
Did you see the BLT publication on Treating NAFLD with Healthy Diet and Exercise? It may give you further good pointers. britishlivertrust.org.uk/do...
Thanks Katie, I do feel positive that I have stopped doing anymore intentional damage to my liver. But am still very fatigued. Only really active when I am at work. Having said that last week has been better
It might seem contradictory but if you can actually do some physical exercise (even a short walk) out of doors it boosts your endorphins and actually helps overcome fatigue. Doctors specialising in treating auto immune hepatitis actually said this at conference a few years ago. It can take some effort sometimes but it does really work.
Chronic fatigue has been my hubbies major lingering symptom since his cirrhosis diagnosis back in 2012 - he started off doing short walks round the village upping that to a mile a day and can now walk fairly longish distances plus he started cycling in 2021 - doing 600 + miles on his manual bike last year plus 1000+ on his ebike.
Boosting your mental health doesn't half boost your physical health too.
