I’m not so sure about this...
After having consistent blood tests for 12 months I have been diagnosed with CKD. In trying to educate myself about this disease I have come to question if I really do have it. Based on blood tests I do but....I have no reason for getting it. Apart from low gfr and high creatinine, my bloods are fine

Lithium side effects
Anyone else experience this? I've been on a low dose of lithium for 7 months now. For that time I have felt very shakey, wobbly in the legs. They feel weak. In the morning I feel unsteady walking my dogs. Any insight much appreciated! Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

Goodies star Bill Oddie reveals he has been 'very ill'
Although this is not a strictly thyroid issue, it appears relevant here due to the impact of lithium on thyroid hormone levels, autoimmunity and everything to do with the thyroid. I believe a number of members might be on lithium - or have taken it in the past. [i]

Inulin and psyllium
I just replied to a post with this information which might spark some responses...... I had to include the graph because it really made me laugh! (PS = psyllium, WD = wheat dextrin) The serious bit: - Inulin is a type of fructo-oligosaccharide, or FOS, that helps to feed the "friendly" bacteria in

Gut friendly banana bread recipe
Is it not an act of love to cook, to bake, to mix lovingly various ingredients together? I believe this to be so. This of course means when we feel disconnected from our bodies and hopeless in our soul - we are far less likely to create these acts of love for ourselves. Please know, my sweet, you are

Non- Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism - causes
Hi everyone I was diagnosed with non- Hashimoto’s 25 years ago at the age of 25 when my GP was looking for an explanation for severe headaches that I’d had since I was a child. I had my TSH tested which came back as 25 with no antibodies present. One thing I’ve never had an answer to is what the cause

Help I’m confused
Hi there I am sure this is a familiar story but new to me so any advice welcome. Started to experience ‘heartbeat sound’ in my right ear so went for a hearing test. Audiologist said my ear was so full of wax that he couldn’t see my eardrum. Advised me to use olive oil spray then see a micro suction specialist

Anyone taking anticonvulsants?
Hi! I have been taking anticonvulsants Lithium & Lamictal, for Bipolar disorder for 5 years. I had a serious injury due to hypermobile joints this past year (my hip dislocated and bruised my femur) and I haven't worked since. I was told to take Ibuprofen at high to maximum amounts for about 6 months

Rapid drop in GFR
First of all I don't actually have Kidney Disease but I'd really appreciate some advice etc. Within the space of 2 months my eGFR has dropped 12 points from 78 to 66. This seems quite a dramatic drop in a short space of time. Am I worrying over nothing? I should add I take Lithium for mental health

What is the best calcium supplement to take? Here are some ideas
A lot of people ask us which is the best calcium supplement to take. We reply that the best one is whichever one you'll take regularly! There are a ton of products on the market, ranging from cheap to pricey and sometimes touting benefits or making claims that aren't supported by much evidence. Here's

Weird Feeling
Hello. I am 4 months into my postpartum psychosis episode . I am currently taking zyprexa , lithium, lamictol, and Zoloft. I have been feeling this weird, horrible feeling that I can’t really explain all throughout the day. This feeling makes me feel trapped and miserable. Can anyone relate ?

Quick Soda Bread
First time making soda bread today, wanted to try because it takes 5 mins to mix, 30 mins to bake, and only has four ingredients (Organic stoneground Wholemeal flour, buttermilk, bicarbonate of soda, and salt) You are supposed to wait till it is fully cooled before slicing but we couldn’t wait, hungry
