Medicine/Supplement Regime (Mucuna etc)
I just thought I'd share my dad's current medicine regime in case it will help other people. After so many months of trial and error, we have finally found a dose that works for my dad. He takes it every 2 hours and 45 minutes with little freezing, has less dyskinesias, not much pain, a better appetite

Difference between calcium citrate and calcium carbonate
I just read an article that someone who takes antacids should be taking calcium citrate. I have big stomach issues so I take a lot of different things for my stomach and I had never heard this. My latest dexa scan indicated more damage to my bones in the last two years. I already suffer from severe osteoporosis

L-thyroxine Malabsorption Due to Calcium Carbonate Impairs Blood Pressure, Total Cholesterolemia, and Fasting Glycemia
Just in case anyone thinks that advice to separate calcium (and iron) from levothyroxine is a figment of our imaginations, have a look at this paper. Not only does the paper make a point about separating taking of calcium and levothyroxine, by a long time, but they emphasise that doctors, including

Staying healthy in lock-down....we’ll sort of!
I was reading in a magazine about how to keep healthy in these times of lock-down. All the usual things such as fresh fruit and vegetables, plenty of water, high fibre diet, mindfulness and where possible daily exercise. If, like me, you have probably read it so many times you wonder why you are killing

Anxiety
Hey everyone. I'm a bit new here. This is going to be a bit of a long one but I guess I'll start by stating the obvious: I've been suffering from some pretty nasty anxiety since January. I've always been an anxious person to some extent but it never really interfered with my day to day life, or they

Oral thrush
I know that this is an issue that is frequently discussed on the forum. I’ve just discovered that after weeks of sore gums thinking it was something a dentist needed to look at that it is in fact thrush. I got some Daktarin gel from the pharmacy but it stings where the discomfort is at its worst. Is

Medication help
Hello everyone, I suffer with IBS and I do take Mebeverine which works well. However I do still get the occasional bouts of acute upset stomachs and I have only used Light Kaolin and Calcium Carbonate in the form of chewable tablets, originally brought from Asda a few years ago. I can not take Loperamide

Plain or Self Raising Flour? Baking Powder or Bicarbonate of Soda?
To the lots of you cooking experts here: What’s the difference if I use Plain or Self Raising flour or does it not matter which I use? Going to attempt to make my first ever plain no frills coconut cake. Yum! Thanks!

L-thyroxine malabsorption due to calcium carbonate impairs blood pressure, total cholesterolemia, and fasting glycemia
Suggestions to separate taking levothyroxine from medicines/supplements is very frequent on this forum. And, yet again, backed up by research. These women will not have decided on their own, "let us take calcium carbonate after levothyroxine". No, of course not. Some medic, somewhere, will have suggested

For those of us who are gluten/soya/dairy/ intolerant... Something comforting to bake, my modified recipe as requested...
In these difficult times for us folk who have so many food intolerances, it's even harder to find something nice to eat that doesn't hurt us! Apart from calories of course! Although this recipe includes almonds for this who are tree nut intolerant, the almond flour can be substituted with dessicated

More advice please
Can I ask if anybody S taking Adcal D3 along with Pred? My GP has asked me to consider taking it. It's a calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 chewable obtained under prescription. However it does come with side effects. I am already taking Vitamin d tablets along with calcium from the local health shop daily

Was wondering
My psy nurse thinks I may be bipolar 2 so she put me on a low dose of lithium (300mgs./day). It's been 2 weeks and I can't tell any difference in my depression/anxiety. Has anyone else ever taken lithium and did it help you?

Intro
Hey, So I’m seeing a new therapist, and he suggested I find an online social anxiety support group, since I can’t really meet anyone right now cause of the virus. Not that I could have before anyways, since I’m socially awkward. I have 2 friends but no one I can really connect with emotionally. Everyone

Worried about supplements.
I forgot to take my supplements today. DCA , Ubiquinol, Fish oil, Lithium orotate, vinpocetine, folic acid, vinpocitine and B1 and I really developed anxiety and the shakes. I took them after lunch and things settled down. Can anyone tell me which of these is essential for PD. I also have the helmet

Low stomach acid /hypothyroidism
First time I write after reading many post and learning a lot... I'm a retired french psychiatrist interested in weight problems and convinced that mild hypothyroidism is extremely frequent and underdiagnosed in post menopausal women I wonder if there isn't a vicious circle in these common problems:
