Osteoporosis diagnosis
Trying to be brief but it's turning into a long post. My history- PMR symptoms started late Dec 2104. Stiffness in pelvis, shoulders, neck and limbs. No pain but movement severely restricted and a lot of fatique. Felt like I had aged by 30 years. Diagnosed end Jan 2015. Initially resisted steroids and

17 Months after PPP
Hi all- I came down with PPP in September 2014 after the birth of my daughter. My psychiatrist thinks I am bipolar. I have never had any history of mental illness though and I do not think I am bipolar. I am still on Lithium but I have been slowly decreasing my dosage. My question is- how do you know

Bottled Water
Just when you thought it was safe to go out lol. Still Scottish Mountain Water from the Co-op!! Thought I would move from my Brita filtered water to bottled water BUT, not thinking I should read the label, I did and look what I found mg per litre: Calcium <55mg; Magnesium >16mg; Potassium <2.0mg;

whats wrong?
I have had lots of blood tests that are out of normal range or positive. I have been pushed from piller to post and seen haematologist, kidney specialist, and now waiting to see a rheumatologist. I know non of my results are very low or high but they are all out of range and lots of them. It seems strange

Tired. Feel like giving up the battle.
This is my first post here. I signed up yesterday. I've been battling this shit for 10 months now. I've been more or less home bound because of it. For 10 months. I've been struggling with varying conditions during this period. At first, it was suspected SIBO. Antibiotics got rid of it, and I was happy

Oops a mix up
Had my water test done today, and had a call later in the day to say I had infection and to collect script for antibiotics, that was at 5pm, I have just had a call from my own Doctor, who has been so apologetic that there is a person with the same name and date of birth, and she picked up on it straight

Cluster headache
I've had daily cluster headache for the past five years now. I've had to leave uni, can't work and have lost most of my friends due to cancelling plans constantly because the pain is so bad. I see a neurologist at the Walton Centre and have tried every medication and injection available and am now trying

Lithium
I read recently that small doses (such as 2mg daily) could help B12 get to cells. Does anyone know anything more about it? Thank you.

potassium
My last blood test showed low potassium, just under the range, I feel as if I can hear my heart pulsing in my ears I also have long standing tinnitus in both ears. Do I need to take potassium, could this be the cause of my palpitations and heart pounding in my ears feeling? I'm so confused. The potassium

Hot Flushes, Normal Pulse and Temperature: Overmedicated?
I have many hot flushes per day but my temperature and pulse are normal. I increased my T3 from 5 to 10 mcg a few weeks ago and stayed at 150 mcg T4 as previous blood work suggested room for improvement in T3 (TSH: 0.12 (0.35-5.5); FT4: 15.9 (10-19.8); FT3: 4.1 (3.5-5.5), the latter done after leaving

Not Bipolar
Hi all- I'm so glad I found this group. I've been feeling so alone since I came down with PPP after the birth of my baby girl in Sept. 2014. I had no history of mental illness and no one in my family is bipolar. My therapist said it was the "perfect storm" which made me susceptible to PPP. We had a lot

Betaine hcl
Hi, I don't seem to be absorbing B12 and I get very bloated and I seemed to have become lactose intolerant. So I did the sodium bicarbonate test to check for low stomach acid and I didn't burp at all. I tried taking Betaine hcl with Pepsin. I started with a small dose and gradually increased it. I

Argh.
So, I have taken my health in my own hands and been reading my way through scholarly articles. I recently went to theranos and got direct to consumer blood testing. Sigh. My too high iron/sat/binding is now too low. It went from the last results of 156 iron, 42% sat, binding around 400 to 40 iron

Dizziness for a month
I've been having such a hard time lately. It all started when one day I got a little bit off balance and my limbs felt heavy and I became obsessed with it. Every since then I've been dizzy and off balance every single day where I can barely walk or do anything also accompanied with ringing in my ears

Lithium as an Alternative Option in Graves Thyrotoxicosis
I suspect quite a few people have questioned whether lithium could be used in Graves treatment. The answer, in this paper, appears to be yes. The paper quotes a case in which lithium was used for a month. Obviously, longer treatment periods would tend to show more issues. Nonetheless, there is hope
