What blood tests should you get at Dx?
What blood tests should your oncologist consider at Dx or later? (Or what will be the standard of care in 5 years?) Testosterone and PSA Calcium and D level PSAP LDH CTC count (genomic testing, for helping with active surveillance decision) glucose and cholesterol I think all of these would be ideal

High Cholesterol
I'm a participant in the Whitehall Stress and Health study and recent tests as part of that have revealed high
LDL
(ie "bad") cholesterol - 4mmol/l as opposed to the recommended mount of less than 3mmol/l. I'm 4 years post op and otherwise doing ok.

More important then LDL and HDL
Hi I am new here and have been struck, looking at the posts, at how dominated people are by their levels of HDL and
LDL
and of course total cholesterol. This surprises me because their is well documented evidence that other lipid profiles are more predictive than simply looking at
LDL
.

I'm new here, just got a print out of my blood test results for Thyroid and they also did a Cholesterol tests.
Serum HDL cholesterol level = 0.9 mmol/L (> 1.0) - Below range Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio = 5.3 Triglyceride level = 1.9 mmol/L (<2.0) Serum non high density lipoprotein cholesterol level = 3.9 (0.0 - 3.9) - A treatment goal of 2.5 mmol/L approximates to an
LDL
of 2.0 mmol/L I'm a 46 yo male if that's
