Cholesterol confusion
My cholesterol test results are:- tc =6.1, hdl=1.5,
ldl
=4.2, serum cholesterol hdl ratio= 4.1. My fasting trygliceride is 0. 9. When discussed with gp he said losing weight and doing regular exercise would keep me healthy, but doubted it would make much difference to the overall results.

Is a Normal TSH Synonymous with “Euthyroidism” in Levothyroxine Monotherapy?
A serum TSH level below the mean in LT4-treated participants was associated with a higher serum free T4 but similar free and total T3; yet those with lower serum TSH levels exhibited higher serum HDL and lower serum

Low Dose Naltrexone
So, I finally started on LDN. Took a long time, I've had it sat around the house for ages. The more I read about it, the more I like. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18728058 4.2mg, every night at 9pm. I'll keep you all informed . Nothing ventured .

Genetic Testing - Useful info or Project Fear?
It seems that the incidence of genetic testing for medical reasons is becoming more and more common. What doesn't seem to be getting more common is a sensible evaluation of what those test results may mean. Medical opinion seems to be that, except for some obvious examples like the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes

Glucose: The silent killer
The good news is that many approaches that reduce glucose also lower fasting insulin,
LDL
, triglycerides, and C-reactive protein, thereby slashing one's risk of vascular disease, cancer, dementia and a host of other degenerative disorders.

Medications increasing cholesterol
I then had it tested in December last year and it was the following Total 6.9 HDL 1.6
LDL
3.9 Triglycerides 3.0 My GP was not concerned, he said as I didn't fast it wasn't as accurate. I had eaten 2 meals, one just half an hour before the test.

Cycle 5, Day 1 OSU Obin/Ibrutinib/Venetoclax Trial
Hi, Just got back from my Day 1, Cycle 5 trip to OSU. 4 cycles down, 10 to go. Day 1 of the first 8 cycles involves the obinutuzumab infusion on top of the daily 7 pill regimen of ibrutinib and ventoclax. The clinic was a mob scene, so everything took a little while longer than usual, but I was out

Lactate Dehydrogenase
Hi lovely peeps out there, I have a question about LDH (Lactate Dehydrogenase) I believe this an enzyme test that is found in almost all body tissues. In my research I found out this plays an important role in cellular respiration, the process by which glucose (sugar) from food is converted into usable

The Triglyceride/HDL Cholesterol Ratio
Although low-fat diets may help lowering
-C, low carbohydrate diets are more effective in improving the TG/HDL-C ratio.
