Combined with suger free, gluten free, dairy free diet, can do wonders! Good luck with your research😊

It obviously depends on your rheumatologist. Over the last 18 years I have never been prescribed more than one drug at a time......except painkillers.

Until I read about low dose Naltrexone here I had never heard of it, & as I now seem to be reasonably well controlled on Rtx (without Mtx) I have never pursued LDN any further. I don't eat any particular diet...just food that I like in moderation.

i do think though if clinical, controlled tests have been carried out on LDN, & it was found to be effective, some rheumatologists might be prescribing it & I haven't heard of any who do.

If you want to know more about LDN you can find all you need at ldnresearchtrust.org and ldnscience.org.😊

I take LDN, along with Hydroxychloroquine and Sulfasalazine, supplements and dietary changes.

I was diagnosed very early (with positive antibodies) before actual disease was manifest. With not having experienced symptoms, a year on, it is hard to know whether these things are working, or whether I'd still be in the "pre" stage anyway.

Are you planning to take LDN? (As Simba says the LDN Research Trust - who are trying to raise money for clinical trials - is a good place to start.) The RA drugs worry me because they all come with side effects, some of which are not obviously apparent.

hi em13 I am a very difficult patient for doctors as side effects are an issue for me but I do need to look at weiging the benefits with the risksand I am looking into ldn also have you had any side effects to ldn but it is sometimes hard to tell when you take so many meds

The only side effect from the LDN that I noticed was that I slept very deeply the first night, and initially I had adrenaline surges in the night when I tried to increase to the recommended dose of 4.5mg. (At the time I was taking it at bedtime.) I have had far more worrying side effects from a daily dose of Ibuprofen though and have now been told never to take NSAIDs!

Not what you're looking for?
