High cholesterol
I was on statins for years as I had a bad family history. Came off then in may and just had my blood checked. My cholesterol was 6 and hdl was 1.3. I'm post menopausal. My blood pressure is normal. My Gp said this result was ok. Should I be starting back the statins?

Extreme Diets.
I define an extreme diet as one that flirts with deficiency of one or more essential nutrients. Sure, one can always take a pill to counter deficiency, but that would detract from the idea of an ideal diet meeting all of the needs of the body. Is there a place for an extreme diet when cancer is present

Good cholesterol May Not Be as Good as we think....
It has long been thought that a high level of "good" cholesterol in the blood, also known as HDL, is better for health. However, new European research is challenging this belief, suggesting that those with extremely high levels of good cholesterol have a higher mortality rate than people with normal

Just saw my primary.
Also, my cholesterol is 237 mg/dL(125-200),
LDL
is elevated and triglycerides also elevated. I pointed out to him that elevated cholesterol can correlate with hypothyroidism or central hypothyroidism. He didn't agree, doesn't subscribe to ndt and wants to prescribe levothyroxine. New doctor!

I have no idea what's coming next!
I wrote a post a few weeks ago regarding the thoughts I had that my hydroxy chloroquine was no longer working - while seeing my consultant I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which I presumed would be the end of the diagnoses for a whole, I was wrong, I was diagnosed about 4 year ago with APS after blood

4.3 and HDL 2.2. I have no intention of going on Statins so hoping to improve my diet. It is not a bad diet although I don't tend to eat fruit and need to increase my veg intake. I eat porridge every day and prefer wholewheat pasta and rice.
