Early embryo transfer (Day 1 transfer) 2WW
Hi everyone, I don’t hear a lot online about embryo transfers that are done early on. So it’s hard to know whether I should be expecting an early pregnancy test to work or not. This round of IVF I ended up with 1 embryo so my clinic put it straight back in the day it fertilised. The cycle before

Adrenal Insufficiency or GCA or both?
I have looked at the FAQs but cannot readily find an answer so here goes.By way of quick update I restarted pred about 3 months at 10mg because my PMR symptoms came back. I have been tapering at 1mg every 5 weeks using Dorset Lady's slow taper (thank you again). I am shortly to reduce from 7mg to 6.5mg

Multiple conditions leading to burnout
Hi everyone, Any constructive advice welcome. To give context, I have PCOS, endo, degenerative discs, lymphocytic colitis and my gynae now thinks I have adenomyosis too. I also suffer with frequent migraines. My consultant has recently advised I am likely to need a hysterectomy and has discussed injections

Reference ranges
NHS use a range of 7.86 - 14.41 pmol/L when measuring t4. However, every time I've had a private test they use much higher reference ranges of roughly 12-22 pmol/L. Even weirder, my t4 always comes back much lower when NHS tested, and higher when privately. Therefore, it always comes back within range

How to get an accurate T3 reading with bloods?
Ive asked a similar question before, regarding blood testing for T4/T3 and realised for years I was having a blood sample done a few hours after I had taken my Levo upon waking up. People on here then said to have the bloods done that morning before taking T4, to get a more accurate reading. Since then

Parathyroid levels
I have not been feeling too great and have had my thyroid checked, t4 and t3 are now all normal and back to my 175 a day. Still not been well really bad tummy aches, back ache, really struggling with aches in my muscles etc. Had more blood tests lately, they said to check bones. Doctor rang yesterday

Should I be worried about suppressed TSH
I am extremely well and all my bloods seem within normal range to me (but not the GP)! I am 61 years old and was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroditis and Chronic Fatigue in 2004. My only health issue is very erratic sleep (one night 8 and a half hours, the next 4) which I handle by resting in the afternoon

Not feeling the Heat like I usually do!!!
Hi all For years, I've really felt the heat during the summer months but, this summer, I'm actually feeling quite comfortable, which is great and I'm certainly not complaining. I have change my thyroid meds, at the end of last year, so several months ago. I was on Levothyroxine 150mcg daily but GP

So my sister has just found that she has haemochromatosis...
I've nagged her to follow up on her high ferritin results for the last year or so, though GP seemed disinterested with it above 700 so I sent her to give blood which bought it down to 400. Since then we have successfully got her GP to acknowledge her Hypothyroidism and prescribe T4 and I got her to

I had a medical crisis, I didn't die, I wonder why
Last summer I had a medical emergency. The odds were it would kill me but I survived with few life threatening consequences. The problems I had are commonly fatal for 80 year old men. There is a message in my experience which I hope to share with you in this article. It is a bit longer than most

Ferritin
Long time Hashimoto's here. Why do we need to check ferritin, and how is it different than checking iron? Thank you.

Twins, HCG did anyone get a faint line initially on first pregnancy test?
Just curious, we transferred 2 embryos ivf and I really want twins. Tested today but received a faint line - positive though.. I’ve been reading on here the lines are darker with twins. How true is this? I’ve only started to feel symptoms today since returning from Testing so I’m guessing hormones kicking

creatinine/Albumin
Recently I had an UTI and while I was at the doctor we did a Urine sample. My creatinine/albumin ratio was 62 - normal is 0-29. Could this be due to the UTI? I am anxious now. I am prediabetic, have white coat syndrome, and lipid issues though my "ratio" is good. Do I need to cut way down on my

Hashimoto's blood test and cortisol tests
I have been asked by my GP Surgery to provide them with the list of blood tests I believe are correct for a patient with Hashimoto's. I don't seem to be able to find it. Would someone be kind enough to show me where I may find it please? Is it the same as under active blood test or are there 'extras'

Wild Variations in Body Temperature
Since I started T3/T4 combination therapy last summer I have been tracking my BP, heart rate and body temperature (orally). I am currently on T3 only and my body temperature fluctuates massively. For example yesterday; 0725: 35.5 0816: 35.4 0927: 35.5 1041: 35.3 1508: 35.3 1602: 35.8 1831: 35.9

Do I need increase in thyroxine dose?
I have struggled with hypothyroid symptoms all my life (always cold, always hungry, always tired, weight gain etc.) but was always told by my GP that all I needed to do was diet and exercise. Nobody listened to me when I told them that I was already doing that - I suppose it's easier to assume overeating
