Chronic Constipation Since PD Prescription Changed
I have consumed much more fluids, salads, prunes, veggies, apples, stool softeners and
laxatives
-- to no avail. The enema worked, but BMs are still not normal. I believe that the extreme change in my PD treatments is removing all fluids from my intestines.

Spasticity, incontinence, constipation, and that.
Plenty of bran, stayed hydrated, etc, but no joy, so I took some
laxatives
. Ahhh. But then days went by, close to a week, had to take them again, ended up being dependent on
laxatives
for about three weeks. I honestly thought that was my future, and I wasn't that concerned.

10 month wait on NHS...should I go private?
I'm missing uni and work, I can't go a day without codeine, which is making me really constipated (tmi), but I'm scared to take the
laxatives
they've given me because the pain in unreal when I do. Last time I passed out (not that the GP cared)! I'm just at the end of the road.

Stomach problems, possibly slow transit?
I can go a week or more with nothing until I take
laxatives
. I paid to see a gastroenterologist about 6 weeks ago as the wait time was 24 weeks! He has ordered a colonoscopy and ct scan which I've had but not the results yet. He gave me prucalopride but this didnt work at all.

Long term bowel problems
For some years now I’ve been unable to have a natural bowel movement without using suppositories and sometimes
laxatives
. My diet is good, I drink plenty of water, so I was wondering if anyone else had similar problem and how are they tackling it. It makes days out and travel very difficult.

Please help: Gastrointestinal symptoms
Now, I have tried everything to try and get some relief: all the IBS diets, fasting, only eating salads, cutting out all sugars including fruit and carbs, herbal remedies, anti-depressants, peppermint oil,
laxatives
... the list goes on. Can anybody shed some light on my situation?

stage 4 endo with constipation and lots of wind
I am still waiting for my op and waiting to see a bowel surgeon due to the endo being stuck to it and was just wondering if this could be the reason. taking 30ml of
laxatives
twice a day isn't making me feel any better or helping me go the toilet on a regular basis.

Daughter with ? Sluggish bowel
Osmotic
laxatives
don’t seem to get on top of this and the practice nurse mentioned possible sluggish bowel. I wondered if anyone else had come across this, what the symptoms are and how it would be managed. Particularly interested to hear about stimulant
laxatives
..pro’s and con’s. Thanks all!

Enema advice
However sometimes I need a break from
laxatives
and have to find a new way to go to the toilet. By the way the Dr's aren't interested in referring me to a specialist and basically I have to just find what works. So I am thinking of trying an enema. Any advice or suggestions please?

Wee, poo UTI’s and constipation... what to treat and how... feeling a little lost!
We’re currently going through a bad spell with the bladder so have hit the
laxatives
(osmotics) hard again but I feel like I’m just guessing with the management. She does take daily prophylactic antibiotics to keep the UTI at bay.

WE REALLY ARE WHAT WE EAT
To compensate, I’ve taken a lot of
laxatives
or anti-diarrheals. In the last few months I’ve been dealing with bloating. It’s actually painful. Picture eating a hearty Thanksgiving meal and feeling extremely full. Now double or triple that. And that’s how intestinal bloating feels...painful.

Ideas on what to mix laxatives with?!
Hi all, any suggestions for a child who only drinks water so therefore won’t take
laxatives
? He doesn’t like milk, milkshakes, yoghurt, squash, OJ, custard, hot chocolate. Can you mix it into ice cream? Melted chocolate and harden it again? Help would be much appreciated. Thanks
