MRI rollercoaster post lap
Hi there, I just wanted to ask what your experiences are with MRI scan results. I had a lap. surgery in October 2021, and a follow-up MRI in Dec 2021 to confirm endo. They said my doctor will contact me with my result. For almost 4 months I chased them so many times, been turned away by different staff

Laparoscopic surgery
Hi, I have been Diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in 2020. I manage to fall pregnant natural in December 2020 which I was over the moon about. I shortly had a miscarriage in December which I was absolutely gutted this happened. Me and my GPs talking about having laparoscopic surgery? Has any one

Endo lap clear
Heartbroken and lost for words, I had my lap today after tyears of period pain and the last few years being excruciating, my life has changed dramatically, I am on a major amount of pain killers and I have zero answers. I'm so upset. And all they could say was book an appointment with your GP to see

I thought you may be interested that yesterday I was able to have my fourth Covid vaccination. I was diagnosed with PMR in December last year and began with a dose of 15mg of prednisolone raised to 20mg almost immediately and have been tapering down since then with one flare. Currently on 15mg. I have

24 hours post-lap concerns
Hi everyone, I had my first lap yesterday. Have not been very well since (oy discharged this afternoon), and looking for some advice. Did anyone else develop a UTI as soon as they came round from anaesthetic? They've given me antibiotics but there seems to be a lot of blood in my urine. They've tried

Ovary removal success for Endo?
Hi I am 3 weeks post Ovary and Fallopian Tube removal performed Laparoscopically. After surgery my Consultant confirmed that Endometriosis had basically stuck my ovaries to my pelvis. He advised that I shouldn’t suffer from any further Endometriosis issues but I do still have uterus. Has anyone else

Life insurance
Hi all, after being on the waitlist for a diagnostic
laparoscopy
for over a year and being told my life insurance I’m not eligible for cover until I’m diagnosed. I just wanted to ask if anyone else is in a similar position and has been able get some life cover?

Hospital checklist-for tomorrow!
Hi everyone. I've got my first lap tomorrow! Does anyone have some 'must haves' or even basics to take to hospital? Really not too sure what I need. They said it will just be day surgery, but is it worth taking an overnight bag? Also, has anyone else had their NHS appointment outsourced to a private

Surgery waiting times
I went to the specialist at Preston in late December and was put in the list for a lap. I was told at the time it was a 12-18 month wait. I just wondered how long the waiting list is in other parts of the country? No particular reason, just wondering if 12-18 months is excessive.

Good morning runners! Started today with a brisk (-2°) run out, didn't realise it was so cold and didn't take jacket! Arms were freezing for warm up walk and first couple of KM. No endometriosis found
Hi all, So after being on Zoladex injections for a year I finally had my
laparoscopy
surgery. No endometriosis was found during this except for tilted womb. Mirena coil inserted. I’m really upset that I’ve been given no diagnosis or real answer to the horrendous pain I’ve been in.

Questions re: Mirena coil & surgery follow up! What check should be done?
Hello 👋 I had a laparoscopic surgery with excision of peritoneal/ superficial endometriosis 5 weeks ago. A Mirena coil was placed during the surgery. I’m still recovering ❤️🩹 but think I’m gradually doing better, though not been back to work. My questions: Does anyone know if the coil is meant

Last minute lap-help!
Hiya, I’ve got a few questions about an upcoming lap! My surgery got outsourced to a private hospital Friday before last because of NHS waiting times. I was so surprised for them to call me this Wednesday to say they had booked me in for my lap next Thursday (24th)! Although I know I’m very lucky,

I just wondered if anyone has quite a high BMI, I'm having my first ever

What about my dad's prostate treatment?
Hello, My father is 53 years old and 3 years ago his PSA was 5.3. As a result of the biopsy, ASAP was found in only two foci. Other foci were clear. After 3 years (2022), each PSA was 24 as a result of increased infection. As a result of the biopsy, cancer was detected in 8 foci and the score was 5+

The doctor then confirmed I have Stage 4 DIE but not other endometriomas can be seen. 2 weeks after the first
laparoscopy
I had an ultrasound and I was told I have 3 more endometriomas 7-11cm on left ovary and 5cm on right ovary.

Feedback following appointment
I have been told that the waiting list for a
laparoscopy
is 2-3 years. I have been told to get on this waiting list I must reduce my weight. They said they will not perform the surgery unless I can reduce my BMI for 50 to 35 (I have worked this out that I need to loose over 5 stone).
