Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to this. I’m 21 years old and just had Laparoscopy surgery to investigate why I have been suffering pain and extreme fatigue for the past 3 years. Finally, was diagnosed with Endometriosis. However, when I came out of theatre and was in the recovery, the surgeon came to see me and told me the found endometriosis and “burned” away what they could. Then the surgeon left, I just felt like it was extremely rushed and don’t feel very supported. Although I’m happy to have some sort of diagnostic, I worry that the pain may not go away and I will be alone. I haven’t been told about a follow up appointment or anything?

Hi there, sorry you feel like you e been left with little info, I think that’s quite common unfortunately. In my experience, a follow up appointment is usually set a couple of months after the op. Your consultant should write to your GP so you can always try chasing them. Or you could try to get the number for your consultants secretary from the hospital that you had your surgery at. Everything g is so stretched due to Covid but it might help you get done feedback. Good luck and make sure you rest when you need it!

Hi There.I completely understand where your are coming from, 2 months ago I had my laparoscopic surgery drainage of endometrioma cyst on left ovary.

I had the same thing from you, the surgeon came up to after my surgery all I got from surgeon, surgery went well we removed the endometriosis cyst successfully. I got all my information from my discharge letter, want I got in the letter was after two weeks from surgery to return to hospital to have MRI scan no explanation for why? Then follow-up call appointment in Feb 2022. I would advise to chase the hospital and ask to have an appointment with your sugeron you did your op and chase GP to follow up. At least I got something from my discharge letter. Keep push it, I found that if you don't chase, the NHS up will just brush it under the rug. You have the right to know what did and any questions and concerns you may have after your lap.

All the best and hope you get your answers.

Xxx

Hi hun,

First of all, well done for going through with the procedure . I'm due to get mine on Saturday and I'm dreading it😔 how was it, how are you feeling?

With regards to your follow up, I think you should get on to the consultant's secretary directly, as for sure there's need for a follow up with your consultant.

If that option is not available, I'd say wait for a couple of weeks, then go to see your gp, and ask your gp to write to your consultant. But definitely, you should be seen.

Let me know how you get on xx

Hey, thanks for your willingness to answer any questions I might have. How are you feeling now? Has your bloating subsided? Are you in much pain? Xx

My pain comes and goes, it’s trapped air which makes me feel most uncomfortable. I went on a small walk (200 yards) and I am exhausted, I am just extremely tired and ache. With regards to bloating I would say I’m more tender, and bruised xxx

How are you feeling today? You should take some peppermint oil capsules and drink loads of peppermint tea. Many ladies here suggested that. I bought some for myself for tomorrow. Fingers crossed it all goes well🙏🤞🙏

You will be ok, I’m moving around a lot easier now. I struggled the first day as I couldn’t pull myself up. But I’m ok now, still resting and taking it slow. I haven’t done much since, other than get up to use the bathroom and go to bed xx
