Memorable graduation run
Well, it's taken five days since my last run, but I finally finished W9R3 today. It was an outstanding feeling of elation and success. For music I chose The Who, Who's Next album that has two of my favourite tracks. It begins with Baba O'Reilly - made famous as the opening tune to CSI New York, and

So far so good...
OK, so back in August I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Since I was already into power walking shorter distances, I started walking into work 2 or 3 times a week (10K there and 10K back). With that and a stricter diet, I succeeded in getting my blood sugar back to a healthy level (and power walked

Thin lining. Need positive stories.
A lot of people have been posting trouble with thin lining lately and have had great advice about things to try to help unfortunately nothing seems to be working for me. I have been on progynova, viagra pessaries and an estraderm patch for 13 days now and had my first scan this morning. My lining still

The best present you could get for year end
So today, just before my W9R2 run, I had a blood sugar quarterly review at my local clinic. My HbA1c has fallen from 56 mmol/mol to 41 - from well within the type 2 diabetic range to below even the pre-diabetic range. I have lost one stone since August (6.5kg). The HbA1c is the lowest reading since

TED talk worth watching
I can thank Activity2004 for bringing the existence of this forum to my attention. After a few months of coping with the dietary implications of type 2 diabetes diagnosis, I have become a little angry and a lot more critical of the crazy way our manufactured food industry worldwide seems to have duped

What is the efficacy index of T2 meds on BS level.
Can one quantify the effect of 500mg Metformin on Blood Sugar level ? for eg. If one consumes say 1 glass cola and after 2 hrs the BS level is 250 so if one takes 1 tab of 500mg Metformin then by how much will the BS level come down, is there any study on this aspect of Metformin and other such T2 meds

Time to do something...
Typing this at the local fish and chip shop ☹️ I went to the doctors a few weeks back with a waterworks issue (or so I thought). After all my blood tests all is ok except for my cholesterol which is high. I have been recommended to go on a low carb diet (cutting down on potatoes rice pasta and bread

Exercise can be just as effective as some meds for lowering high blood pressure ❤️
Hello everyone, Well its official exercise is good for 'us' it's still tentative so don't stop your meds yet but this is very encouraging and in a way obvious as many of us know the importance of not only a healthy diet but a healthy diet combined with sufficient exercise for us is the obvious best choice

Off topic- Gluten Free favourites
https://www.sbs.com.au/food/recipes/breakfast-bread Off topic but I wondered if anyone has any favourite gf products that make going gf that much easier? For me, the breakfast bread (see link) is a saviour. To make it easier, I change the ground flaxseed to buckwheat flour, the coconut oil to olive

‼️Warning‼️ Sensitive post alert - UPDATE on beta hcg results at bottom of post 10/12/18
Today is otd! It’s a bfp. I barely slept even though I’ve been testing since 6dp! I’m actually quite pleased with the darkness of the line on the clinic test as they’ve been a bit lighter than this on otd previously. I’ve called the clinic about going in for bloods for further reassurance and I’m waiting
