Hi,

I am 50 year old male. Every month I check my sugar level. fasting is between 95 to 110, sometimes upto 120, PP is in the range of 110 to 140, sometimes upo 150. Random sugar is sometimes 105, sometimes 152. still my HbA1C is 7.50? Why HBA1C is not in proportionate to fasting and pp sugar level. How to lower HbA1C?

I fully agree with you - HbA1c and your fasting PP blood sugar numbers do not seem to be in agreement. I would suggest you get your blood test done in a reputable lab and get a reliable measurement done for fasting, PP and HbA1c.

Home Glucometer is a very useful tool to see the general trends in blood sugar change. For accurate measurement one has to rely on the lab results. Home glucometer is not good for accurate measurement of BS.

Low carb consumption is key to controlling blood sugar. Consider following LCHF diet.

Confirm your Hba1c from couple of more labs .. if it is more than 6 .. then You are diabetic ..

Remedy - follow LCHF diet ..

your lab values look normal. you may not be a diabetic.

don't keep titrating your lab values,to prove any point.

instead concentrate on the clinical symptoms you have prompting you to go for these tests.

HBA1c is meant to see how you were faring on the average over the past few months.

it will not reflect on your day to day sugar levels.

I think sometimes you are consuming sugar content foods like sweets and fruits that time you have not done sugar test.thats why your hba1c is above 7.

Diabetes is diagnosed with the following blood tests:--

Fasting blood glucose level -- diabetes is diagnosed if it is higher than 126 mg/dL two times

Random (nonfasting) blood glucose level -- you may have diabetes if it is higher than 200 mg/dL, and you have symptoms such as increased thirst,

urination, and fatigue (this must be confirmed with a fasting test).

Oral glucose tolerance test -- diabetes is diagnosed if the glucose level is higher than 200 mg/dL after 2 hours

.

Hemoglobin A1c test

Normal: Less than 5.7%

Pre-diabetes: Between 5.7% and 6.4%

Diabetes: 6.5% or higher

HbA1c is a lab test that shows the average level of blood sugar (glucose) over the previous 3 months. It shows

how well you are controlling your diabetes.

yr HbA1C is high. If you are not diabetic, this should not be the case.

Check all values in a good Lab on the same day. Preferably in a diabetic Centre.

I am Diabetic and taking insulin. My fasting at times is 105-110, at times higher. The HbA1C is more reliable. see an endocrinologist / Diabetologist
