About a year ago I had my knee scoped to take out some tissue. Ever since then I’ve been having terrible restless legs. My symptoms started about 4 months after my surgery, around the same time I regained all my muscles in that leg. Could the too be related? I’ve been to numerous docs who can’t tell me why I have this all of a sudden. I am 22. Am prescribed Gabapentin but not working too well.

RLS after knee surgery?
Hi texgal23. So sorry to hear about your new, sudden onset of RLS.. I have had 5 separate knee surgeries on both knees over the years, all the while I had RLS, so for me there was no correlation between the two. I have had very, very good luck with the dopamine agonist, Requip (ropinirole) for my restless legs but what works for one doesn't work for another. Sounds like your Dr. gave you gabapentin because of it's ability to work on "nerve pain" but I also found gabapentin to be ineffective for that as well.
Nonetheless, you have landed at the right place to get an answer to your question because this board is full of really nice, helpful and knowledgeable folks who are more than willing to offer any help/advice that they can Best of luck in finding out what is causing your sudden onset of RLS for there is always a chance that the timing of the RLS and knee scoping are nothing more than coincidental.
