New ET diagnosis
Hello…..Was given my diagnosis a week ago today ..still getting my head around it. No obvious symptoms besides now I attribute it most likely to ET… fatigue. My GP was monitoring my platelets getting tad higher each blood test over last couple of years.. he had put me on low dose aspirin but recently

Ketogenic/Paleo diet
I only found this out because I needed a blood test in advance of surgery (
knee
replacement
), but maybe it is something to be aware of if you are low carb and avoiding processed food. They're going to test me again next week to ensure the sodium levels have raised sufficiently.

Major Flare
I had a
knee
replacement
in 2021, complete success but when I went back on to the humira after the surgery, it wasn't quite so good. Second
knee
replacement
in Oct 2022, and again when I returned to humira it felt even less effective.

ibs-d and facing surgery
I’m having a
knee
replacement
on Wednesday and worried about my ibs-d as bad at the mo. I’m taking loperamide but worried that if I take too many with the combination of strong painkillers I’ll end up constipated.

At Last!
What with falling and hurting my ribs a couple of months ago, then having Mum to stop for a while following her total
knee
replacement
surgery - she’s in her 80’s and lives on her own since Dad passed away during the pandemic . Then a jippy tummy and on and off toothache.

A few new ideas in pipe line
For those struggling with arthritic pain , you might be glad to hear that research is being done into making
knee
and hip
replacement
ops possible on a day care basis for the fittest. Which might in time reduce the long waiting lists. Nice to hear some optimistic news for the future.

Knee replacement soon & on 8mgs pred
I am finally in the pipeline for one of my knee replacements in 6-8wks time. I have been reducing very slowly from 15mg and currently on 8mg. I have decided I will not reduce further until well after my knee surgery. I put on 6 stone in 6 months when I started pred, this has impacted on my knee pain

Terrified
47 years old. I had knee surgery almost 2 weeks ago and after the surgery I took the prescribed narcotics for 4 days. Every time I take these I get constipated. I started taking stool softeners (colace) and after a week nothing. I did a Fleet enema and finally 9 days after surgery I had a BM and it was

Sorry for passing this on? Genetic Osteoarthritis? but trying to get to relevant 'audience'?
A condition passed through my mother's side of the family, my mother had it in her hands, she was an excellent sculptor, painter, etc, it affected her hands, very sore, I was living at home with my parents, the last of five children, unfortunately I have epilepsy [disabled all my life] I was on Topamax

KNEE SURGERY?
High folks, went to see my consultant a few days ago, asked when I was getting my 1st surgery and we discovered I am NOT on the waiting list. This is apparently due to a CLERICAL ERROR with the orthopedic department. My consultant, lovely person has promised me she will ask for a priority appointment

scared
I’m nearly 2 years on from a triple bypass and now need 2 full knee replacements. I can have them done when I like as I’m fortunate enough to have private healthcare. But I am so terrified of yet more surgery. Family and friends keep telling me it will be a ‘walk in the park’ compared to what I had before
