Knee Replacement

I am having a knee replacement operation next week and was wondering if I should increase by dosage rate or just keep things as they are ? I am down to 6 mg of Pred after being diagnosed with PMR in March . Many thanks .

At long last my TKR surgery is planned for later this month. I couldn’t be happier, I’m not exactly looking forward to the procedure but I will be glad to get it done and hopefully make a good recovery. It will be nice to go on walks again, to sit comfortably in theatres and stadiums and hopefully swim

Hi all, I have an arthritic right knee, I have seen 2 consultants, one private one nhs, both were quite negative, the private guy said just have a knee replacement, the nhs guy said try not to have a knee replacement as you're only 60!

my husband had a full knee replacement just over two years ago. Dentist wants him to premeditate with amoxicillin. Will this bump up his RL?

The problem is that he now needs total knee replacement for both knees. We have a very long awaited appointment with Neurology nurse in October to discuss the wisdom etc of undergoing the surgery.

I had right total knee replacement surgery on 17th September so just over 2 weeks post op now. I was really scared beforehand especially with having to stop Baracitinib a week before. I know everyone is different but I feel so lucky. So far I’ve managed the pain with paracetamol and codiene.

I am waiting for a knee replacement. My question is could this be arthritis or could it be PMR? I first had it in my shoulders but they are ok ish.

I am wondering if being hypothyroid has anything to do with high histamine reactions because I had anaphylactic shock during general anaesthetic when they were injecting drugs into my system for a knee replacement?

Hello I m waiting on a left knee replacement.

.- I've been given a date for my knee replacement..it's in August and will be done in north London at a good NHS hospital. They have a centre for elective surgery and to be honest it's probably the best hospital option available to me.

Hi I have recently been told that I need a knee replacement, but because I have had 3 stents in a blocked artery, I will have to wait 6 months for the OP! I am in quite a bit of pain and this is very dibilating, I cannot walk very far at all.

Must admit I am a,bit apprehensive as to what I can do as,had a,total knee replacement in March and it's a,little painful still.

I had full knee replacement surgery yesterday afternoon. On the advice of the surgical team I had my normal dose of Prednisolone in the morning. Epidural for the op and played nice music through my ear buds to drown out the sound of the team and the sawing and hammering 😬. All’s well.

I have just been told that I need a full knee replacement on my right knee. The consultant, is I am told is very experienced, said he could tell when I walked into the room.

They are: Ropinirole Baclofen Carbidopa/Levodopa Clonazepam Gabapentin Tizanidine I do excerise, I have been in physical therapy for left knee replacement Feb, March and 1/ 2 of April and then again in June and still in physical therapy for my 2nd right knee replacement.

Having knee replacement in June. Hoped to be off it.

I had a left knee replacement surgery April 10th this year.

However 18 months ago I had knee replacement surgery and from that day have suffered daily fro RLS. My GP prescribed pramipexole and due to what I understand is augmentation I am now on a reduced dose of 36mg a day. I am due for a medication reciew on 4th November.
