Knee Replacement

This is an comment to Horsewhisperer. I've had both my knees replaced in the last couple of years with excellent results. My biggest advice is do the exercises religiously to reap the benefits. Extension is just as, if not more, important as flexion. I know it's painful but so worth it. I dance now 3

I suffer with RLS, I take Gabapentin 1200mg. 5 weeks ago I had surgery for complete knee replacement, now my RLS is much worse, mainly the leg that was operated on, plus I am now having my toes constantly twitch and then cramp up!!

I finally had one knee replacement in Sept 2024 and now await my other knee. Last week I had a rare doc appt to discusss the neuropathy in my feet and hot swollen hands and deformed fingers.

This appeared in my inbox recently and I thought those facing hip or knee replacement might find it interesting.

I had a total knee replacement 3 weeks ago. Very painful, but persevering with the exercises and so far, so good. I take 4.5 mg Prednisilone, down from 15mg in June 2023. I have paused tapering after the surgery and would like advice on when to resume. Thank you for your advice.

Husband scheduled for a knee replacement next month two weeks after his scheduled quarterly infusion. The surgeon suggested he hold off until after the surgery as it could affect his immune system. Of course we will ask our MO but was curious if others had ever been told this.

I am still feeling slight discomfort and severe stiffness in my new knee 3 months after surgery, is this normal?

I’m having a partial knee replacement this coming Friday and I’ve been asked to stop taking my Apixaban 48 hours prior to the op. I didn’t have my dose this morning and I didn’t expect to feel so at sea!

I have Fibro and other problems, but, following a fall in the garden, it was established that as well as Osteoarthritis, I had damaged my knee. Six weeks ago I had complete knee replacement surgery. I am having problems bending my knee. I was discharged with codeine prossphate and paracetamol.

I am hoping for a good report as no chest infection since January and a go ahead health wise for a complete knee replacement surgery in the next couple of months. Pre assessment has been made and all the tests done until the date .🙃🤞

On behalf of my OH who has a knee problem. I've already been through knee issues and ultimately knee replacement surgery, November 2015. My OH remembers those days quite well and is probably in denial of what I went through. That was some 9 & half years ago now ......
