Buprenorphine vs. hydromorphone or other opioids
So I noticed during and after a recent TKR that the buprenorphine that I take for my RLS interacts with the hydromorphone that my surgeon prescribed for me for pain. First, when I was taking my buprenorphine along with the hydromorphone, the hydromorphone wasn't easing my pain because the buprenorphine

TSH level increase after total thyroidectomy(8 years ago)
I am a 28-year-old man (90 kg). I had a total thyroidectomy 8 years ago due to papillary carcinoma. Recently, I had a knee surgery and during a subsequent blood test, my TSH level was checked and found to be 4.5. However, I had taken my medication (euthyrox 150mg) on the morning of this blood test. Therefore

New starter!
hi, just about to embark on couch to 5k after having knee surgery in April. Although never a great runner I would generally run a few times per week around 3 to 4 miles. Due to injury I haven’t ran for over 2 year. I’ve gained weight and lost fitness, even though I continued to workout in the gym.

I have also had two
knee
replacements and a shoulder
replacement
and am waiting for Carpal tunnel op. I am 80 now and feel as though another flare would be too much . As I read this it all sounds a bit melodramatic !! However it’s good to be able to share with others who understand.

thromboelastogram
Has anyone ever heard anything about a test called a "thromboelastogram"? I had unrelated knee surgery the other day. Discussed my PV with the anesthesiologist & he was surprised to hear I never had this test. He said it looks at the function of the platelets. I've never heard anyone mention this

chronic hiccups after knee surgery
Hi, Sorry if this is the wrong forum but was hoping for advice or some signposting. My father had double knee surgery a few years ago. After the operation he developed sever hiccups which drained him to the point of exhaustion and he kept vomiting. These then stopped after he was given some medication

The
knee
replacement
went extremely well! My rìght
knee
(the one that was replaced) is actually stronger than the left knee and only 3 weeks after surgery! Hip, Hip, Hooray! My MS didn't flair up at all, unlike when I went septic back in August.

I simply don't know how to give up.
On Monday December the 19th I go in the hospital for right
knee
replacement
. Your prayers and good thoughts will be deeply appreciated. Some say I'm an idiot for doing this, especially most of my family due to my MS. But, I simply don't know how to give up.

Why do i have a Resuscitation status section on my discharge letter from hospital?
I had knee surgery last week. Discharge letter had a section entitled Resuscitation Status on it (not ordered) which has never been in previous letters. On previous hospital visits prior to diagnosis of vasospastic angina this did not appear on any of my letters. Has anyone else seen this on their hospital

Knee massager with red light
Has anyone with osteoarthritis in knees try a personal knee massager with red light instead of knee surgery? If so did it work?
