Scientists identify virus-cell interaction that may explain COVID-19's high infection rate.
Lehigh researchers quantify the specific interaction between the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 — the virus that causes COVID-19 — with the ACE2 receptors in human cells that may partially explain its high infection rate compared to SARS-CoV-1. Bioengineering researchers at Lehigh University have identified

Shielding and Furlough.
Hi all, I've just seen a post from Maz about a letter for Gp's regarding people with MPN's being clinically vulnerable and how to add them to the shielding list. This raises questions for me... I have been furloughed throughout Covid19 and as a result have only received 80% of my wage for a full year

Hi everyone, I have G6PD deficiency and although not life-threatening as long as I stay clear of the list of substances that can cause an allergic reaction, I have recently been reading about some studies that highlight a concerning correlation between Coronavirus and people with the same condition as

Diabetes Type 2, PD and Berberine
Diabetes is a common disease that affects many Americans and 90 to 95% of diabetics have Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). I will be discussing T2DM and one option to help deal with it effectively based on multiple studies. Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is significantly less common so I will focus this discussion

My Father is in ICU on a ventilator for 8days, with dialysis - All help welcome!🙏🏼
He has diabetes so had
kidney
failure
and is on dialysis. After a couple of positive days being rolled from his back and being at 50%, dialysis was removed and he had shot up to 100%. He has been given the new arthritis drugs which he has responded positively too.

Any advice welcome.
Hi, is there anyone like me that when diagnosed with heart failure had to lose over 100lbs in weight? Would love to hear tips for how to get safely started with exercise. I'm worried as I am so inactive that any form of exercise is going to make me worse as my anxiety is also bad at present.

Phantom smell
Hello all, My sense of smell is present, but for the last 6 weeks I have been smelling a foul scent that is not really there. It is almost like a pungent soap. Originally I thought it was coming from the clothes that were washed and may have had too much soap or something, but after this long it is

Nice to meet you all. Any tips or tricks to deal with this lovely, lovely butterfly disease that I need to know?
Hi. Can't believe it took me this long to find this site. I was diagnosed back in 2016 at 25 with severe Lupus SLE, and I'm studying here in the UK, hoping to stay permanently because I love it here so. The lupus certainly makes life more interesting, I've noticed. Nice to meet everyone. Anyone know
