Please can someone explain rogue DIO2 gene & Myxedema Coma to me please?
My mother passed away from Myxedema Coma, my sister fell into a Myxedema Coma & thankfully saved as lived in France & they immediately recognised hypothyroidism even though TSH normal. The NHS ignore my history & my TSH normal although I have exact symptoms down to putting on 30kg of fluid. My body is

My primary doctor is reluctant to proscribe a CT scan or MRI scan with contrast. I have advanced Prostate cancer
my kidney function is the reason. My gfr (non black) is at 40. Any comments or suggestion for alternative scans. I have not talked to my urologist/oncologist yet. Gleason 8, radiation, cryotherapy, and 3 rounds of Lupron. This has come up because I am having abdominal pain

Glad you Don't Skip
I'm 53 with congenital kidney issues. Due to my mother having childhood diabetics I was born with just one kidney & a plethora of other urinary issues. As a child I was in & out of the hospital with UTI & other related illness. I understood at a young age that eventually my single kidney would give

Secondary Cancer?
Husband diagnosed G9, 2004. IMRT, Brachytherapy, ADT, Provenge. Recently a mass near the ureter, 4.2cm was seen on a Ct scan. Needle biopsy; carcinoma w/squamous differential. Maybe a secondary cancer, possibly caused by excessive radiation. Getting a second review of slides. Anyone with comments or

Still waiting
I had a blood test last year in August and when the results came back from the lab they showed that my bnp level is extremely high. I asked the GP exactly how high to be told that the level is 1221 and she'd expect to see that level in an 87 year old woman, I'm 47 years old. She then went on to refer

Proctogram
So I've had a proctogram today, managed to keep the barrium in at the hospital, as soon as I got home I've just non stopped vomitted and the cramps are unreal, I've now got a headache due to dehydration I believe. Anybody else been through similar? What's the best way to flush it out and get hydrated

Starting PD dialysis
Can anyone tell me what to expect with PD dialysis? I am close to starting dialysis. Does your hair fall out and does your skin blister? Thank you.

I'm a happy girl (or lucky!)
Got the results from the Epileptologist (I'm collecting quite a few "ologists" on this APS journey) and have the all clear and no new seizures on current meds. It has been 6 months and now cleared to drive again as I have been compliant on Keppra. I'm a bit OCD with meds as it doesn't take much to

Potassium and RLS
I have severe RLS. It has mostly been under control for awhile after years of different meds. All of a sudden, for about 2 months now it’s like I don’t even take any medicine. It’s been a nightmare. And I haven’t been able to understand why? Last night out of desperation I was looking at all my meds,

Is it worth to get transplanted?
I have been following the forum in this site for a while. However, everytime I read many of the threads, I end up wondering if it is worth going through it. Currently, I am relatively healthy, although my creatinine is 3.6, my BUM is 49, and my GFR is 13. I have been in the list for almost a year. I

Drugs before dx
Urologist had me on Tamsoluson and Terazosin before do to help with urination. In light of these drugs may cause a more aggressive form of Pca and I’m still on Tamsoluson is there a chance that this drug is now feeding my cancer?
