Proctogram

So I've had a proctogram today, managed to keep the barrium in at the hospital, as soon as I got home I've just non stopped vomitted and the cramps are unreal, I've now got a headache due to dehydration I believe. Anybody else been through similar? What's the best way to flush it out and get hydrated? Thanks in advance

I have one of these on monday , what was the barium for?

It said on my letter they put some sort of gel inside that you poo out?

Did you have to swallow a drink too?

They gave me 2 suppositories and then 600ml off barium to drink then when you've done that they put barrium paste up your rectum that makes you feel you urgently need to go loo. Keep it in.(only briefly) Sit on a bowl and tense and relax and then empty all you can all in all took around an HR and a half the barrium drink highlights everything so they can see what's going on

Thank you I didnt know about the barium drink as well , makes sense though. I just like to know what to expect. I hope you feel better soon.

I had a proctogram and didn’t have to drink anything. I guess it depends on what they’re looking for. In my case it was a rectocele which they found.
