Kidney transplants and meloxicam
My husband is 18 years post kidney transplant. Due to severe pain in “private” areas we went to the ER last night where they prescribed meloxicam. Does anyone have any knowledge on whether a kidney transplant patient can take meloxicam?

Stage 2 ckd with constant pain
Has anyone else experienced severe pain in one side for a long period of time? I get kidney stones regularly & my kidney does have lots of very small stones but the urologist says they shouldn’t be causing my pain as they’re too small. Nephrology says I have egfr 61 & creatine 100. Hypertensive, hypercalciuria

PD -what are the cons (everyone talks about the pros) other than infection?
I prefer Peritoneal Dialysis over Hemo and talked to several Kidney advocates and nurses. All talk about the pros compared to Hemo. Except for infection I have not heard many other risks or discomforts from direct patients. Would like to hear from and connect with anyone who is currently on PD or has

Hi I have lupus nephritis but have no more prednisolone, anyone?
I recently got diangosed with lupus nephritis, due to contracting Hepatitis C in September, which I am now cured from. I saw a doctor privately who was able to diagnose me and I started prednisolone at 40mg a day for 3 weeks to see if it had an affect. My kidney pain went away. But now that doctor has

My egfr dropped after drinking lots of water!!!
We are all instructed that with CKD we should make sure we drink plenty of fluids. And also how you can actually improve your egfr by drinking more than usual a day or 2 before a blood test. My blood is tested every 3 weeks (for various reasons). My last 10 tests have reported a Creatinine level

Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto affect on kidney function
My creatinine levels have risen recently to 120 µmol per litre whereas the accepted range is 71–115. I have been hypothyroid and Hasimoto’s for five years. Just recently I have gained 5 kg due to the lockdown. My diet is healthy but high in protein. Can anyone shed any light on the link between hypothyroidism

Kidney issues
Hello everybody can anyone advise? I was taken off my Rucaparib after one course because my cholesterol soared and white platelets were shot. In parallel A scan showed my right kidney was swollen and barely functioning. I had a nephrostomy last week and everything seemed good. I was warned there could

I´m sorry to be negative, but i don´t enjoy running.
I completed the couch to 5k a year ago, but I live in Spain and so my excuse for not running was that it was too hot, so I didn´t start again until Lockdown. The I started the programme again, in the first few weeks running around the garden and enjoyed it. However, when the runs start to get longer

Renal neoplasm
Husband has extensive bone mets and has had chemo and zytiga. 3 years since diagnosed . Now scans show renal neoplasm on left kidney. What is the standard of care on this? We realize he has a very bad cancer and don’t want to put him thru extraordinary measures . He wants to enjoy life now.
