Looking for advice again...

Hi, my husband after a short stay in hospital with low potassium and high calcium has been ok for a couple of weeks and in fact was ok yesterday but today he is having to run to the loo and sometimes doesn’t get there in time. He hashtag had his lactulose today and hasn’t eaten anything apart from one banana and a protein drink. He is in bed now and has been most of the day.

This time he doesn’t want to speak to the doctor or go to hospital unlike a couple of weeks ago he couldn’t get there fast enough so I am trusting his instinct with this but I am so worried about him. His eyes have big dark circles and I think he look a little jaundiced but hard to tell as he has swarthy skin anyway.

Is this just another joy of liver disease?

Hi

I hope he is feeling better today, not having his lactulose was never an option, but I would try if I was heading for an HE attack, not taking would make sure i was going to have one.

That being said I did get 'bad' days, if he is still off colour today I would perhaps would contact the hospital.

I had eating fads bananas were one, I could eat 6 a day, and I was hooked on tea!

Post transplant i dont like it? PM if you need to chat

David

Hello Bs1524,

Sorry to hear your husband is not so well.

If you are concerned and his symptoms are ongoing , may I suggest you seek medical advice from his GP or his specialist team .

You can also call the nurse led helpline on 0800 652 7330 Mon-Fri 10am-3pm if you would like to speak with the team.

Take care,

Trust9
