Best of luck! How old are you now?

I have PKD, started having symptoms and 40, and progressed to kidney failure at 63. My mom, grandma and brother have/had PKD but have been ok. I got a living donor kidney Feb 2019, and I was better before I left the hospital. BP back to normal, good kidney function, and it is still doing fine.

Because PKD is genetic and won't affect the new kidney, it should last a long time. Good luck with your donor.

Like Dexter I was diagnosed with PKD in my 40's. Went on Dialysis in Oct 2012 and had my transplant living donor my wife in July 2013 and within 3 months back to work full time and by the following June all normal including back to scuba diving.

Hi. I was also diagnosed with PKD at 24. Received my living donor transplant at 49. Went back to works after 3 months. Follow your team’s instructions religiously. Best wishes!!
