Supplements during Covid
Hi Is it wise to take supplements as suggested widely by the general public as a means of providing immunity because of covid 19.? Its concerning since immunosuppressants are doing the opposite. I think 🤔 I know of people loading up on zinc, vitamin C & D, etc. I'm just on my regular multivitamin

Can radiation cause kidney pain?
Started getting a sharp pain in my kidney and/or lower back a few hours after my radiation therapy today. Don't know if it is related to the therapy or not and I didn't find anything about this online but since we have pros here, I figured I'd ask the question here.

Drinking coffee may cut risk of chronic liver disease, study suggests
Over the years we have had some posts from members who were advised to, or somehow picked up the idea of, giving up coffee. At the same time, various levels of liver disorder are quite commonly posted - often slightly elevated liver enzymes, but sometimes more serious. Including fatty liver disease

Managing Anxiety? (caretaker & patient)
Dear all: I'm the primary caretaker for my father who's 77 and recently diagnosed with NSLCa. He is finally starting treatment on Targrisso next Tuesday and will take it for 1-2 months prior to likely a thoracotomy. As you can imagine, the anxiety from the diagnosis to understanding treatment options

Neck Rigidity relief??
Hi All, I’m hoping someone might me able to help. My dad was diagnosed with PSP in March this year, he has lots of other health issues (diabetes, kidney transplant, neuropathy, heart issues) He’s suffered for a long time and we think his other health issues have masked the PSP He’s suffering really

Low EGFR in Blood Work
My employer gives yearly blood tests and results. I'm a healthy 60 year old male and take no prescription medications. My recent blood test showed a lower EGFR level of 58. I've been noticing some bubbles in my urine for about 8-12 months now. I have no other symptoms. About 8 months ago, I started

And for me some good news!
So the NHS is open and I've had a Cystoscopy this afternoon painless although not pleasant and no infection or problem with the bladder but do still have blood in wee. I can't see it but he said its there, so now going for a non contrast CT scan as can't have contrast due to low kidney function. Best

Hi all, I am updating anyone following my story. I had a clear ultrasound and bloods ok except MCV96L and phosphate low. I have still been feeling very unwell. Have had other issues like itchiness, sudden increase in facial veins and diagnosed early menopause. Also right rib pain. Ultrasound did show

How are you living life with spouses both Vaccinated against Covid but one has a kidney transplant and one is healthy?
I cannot find direct information on this question where I am healthy and vaccinated against Covid19 and my spouse is vaccinated and has a kidney transplant but cannot make antibodies due to being on Cellcept antirejection med mainly. Do I live my life "normal" and he is living restricted like before

I have kidney stones and recurrent UTI
I have had a series of UTI with several multidrug resistant bacteria. They also found some kidney stones which I am starting to pass. The stone that I saved was tested and found to be Calcium Oxalate. This is a very painful chapter in my 13 year journey with Prostate cancer.

confused and anxious
After several phone calls to my GP and Rheumatology department, I had a phone call from one of the registrars from the Rheumatology department this morning. Thanks to you all , I knew about the importance of making some notes before my appointment so that I could report my symptoms and ask further

Ompraloze and kidney and liver function test
Hi I have been asked by my hospital to get a blood test to test my liver and kidney function. The only reason I can think of is because I am taking ompraloze for acid reflux. I have been taking it for approxiametly 2 year. Now down to 20mg twice a day.

I'm new here....
Hello, I am new to HealthUnlocked but when I found out there was a forum available to speak with other people who have been given the diagnosis of Lupus I just had to join. I am still feeling numb from spending just over a week in hospital after being given the news about lupus, having a renal biopsy

Long-term effects of ibrutinib on blood pressure in patients with CLL
It seems that the hypertension ( HTN) seen by patients being treated with Ibrutinib continues to rise year on year with treatment. At 5 years 74% of patients experienced an increase in Systolic Blood Pressure of ≥10 which is a huge number of patients. This hypertension is also often difficult to
